"Okay Class," Mrs. Gardener said. "We will be doing a history project for any part of Auradon. You can choose your partner." I looked around the class, wondering who I would ask to be my partner. Mal was with Ben, as usual. Doug was with Carlos, and Jay was with Audrey. The only people left were Freddy, Chad, and Elle. I walked over to Elle.
"Wanna be partners?" I asked her.
"Sure." Elle said as I sat next to her.
"What area do you want to do?"
"Don't judge me, but the Isle of the Lost."
That took me off guard. "Why?"
"I feel like there's some big secret about the island and I want to find out what that secret is."
"Let's ask." I said, walking up to Mrs. Gardener's desk.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Gardener? Elle and I were wondering if we could do the Isle for the project?"
"Of course. Just get a book from the library and read it over." Mrs. Gardener said, giving us a hall pass. But, like most things, everything got worse from there.
Elle and I went to the school library to look for a book about the Isle. The only book we could find was The Isle Of The Lost by King Beast. After 10 minutes of looking, Elle said, "I found another book!"
I walked over to her and saw that she found History Of The Isle Of The Lost by Grand Pabbie.
"There's only one copy and there's no barcode on it. Wonder why. Anyway, you read the book you found and I'll read this one. We compare after we read them."
Elle said, putting the book in her bag.
I checked out my book and went to my dorm to start reading. Mal came in a little bit later. We went down for dinner and went to bed.
And there, ladies and gentlemen, is where our story begins.
