Have you ever noticed that at one moment you're a refugee at a troll camp and the next the fate of an entire country is on your shoulders? That is what it felt like to me.
Let me backtrack a little bit. After Elle left to meet Leo's second family, Ben, Mal, and I went exploring. We saw a lot of things, like the food court, the shopping mall, even the village.
Somehow a goblin broke into the cavern and went to attack us. Mal killed it, but at a price. She collapsed on the ground near my feet. I helped Ben pick her up and we took her to Grand Pabbie.
"Oh no!" Grand Pabbie said. He tried to heal her, but it didn't work.
"Calypso!" He called. She came in.
"Yes Grand Pabbie?"
"Call Leo. I need him and Eleanor here unharmed." Then she got out her phone and called Leo. About 15 minutes later, Leo, Elle, and 7 other kids came out of the portal room.
"What happened?" Elle asked, kneeling next to Mal.
"A goblin broke in here and Mal saved us. After she saved us, this happened." Ben said, giving her the short version.
"It feels like she absorbed some of the dark magic from the goblin. By the feel of it, a little to much." Elle said once she touched Mal.
"Do you think you can heal her?" I asked.
"I can try." She said. She put both hands on Mal's stomach and closed her eyes. After 5 minutes, Mal's eyes flew open and Elle collapsed on the floor.
"What happened? The last thing I remember is the goblin." Mal asked.
"You absorbed to much dark magic from the goblin. Elle healed you." Ben explained.
"She didn't heal her," Grand Pabbie countered. "She absorbed all of the unnecessary dark magic from Mal. I was afraid of this. You three need to take Eleanor to a place called the Moors. There are only two people on Heaven and Earth that can help her now."
"Who?" Mal asked.
"The King and Queen of the Moors. They have the required amount of magic needed to save her. Mal, you should know the way."
"Why? I've never been there."
"Yes you have, in another life. You're from there Mal. Anyone from the Moors can find there way back."
"So, who's all going?" I asked.
"You, your older brother, Mal, and, of course, Elle. I'm sorry Leo, but these four and these four only can go."
"Don't worry Grand Pabbie, I understand."
"Good luck all of you. The fate of this Elle and the world is on your shoulders. I hope you all come back in one piece." Grand Pabbie said as he closed the portal room door.
