Present Day

I noticed, when we returned from the Grounder camp, that Clarke was not acting herself. She went into her room right away rather than celebrate the peace treaty with us. It was odd, but I decided to leave her alone for a bit before I went back to talk to her. "Bellamy," Octavia called, waving me over to her and a group of people. "Where's Clarke? I thought she was going to celebrate with us."

I shook my head. "No, I saw her go back to her room as soon as we got back. She hasn't come out since then."

My sister nodded, "Okay then. . . I'm going to go see what's wrong. She's not usually like this. I'll be back later."

"Yeah," I said, "You do that."

Octavia's POV

I walked away from Bellamy and my friends and walked into the Ark. I wandered the halls to Clarke's bedroom door only to find it closed. I knocked once and entered, prepared for something that could be really awkward, but thankfully that wasn't the case. "Clarke. Why aren't you out celebrating with the rest of us?" I asked.

She was laying on her bed staring at the ceiling. Not looking over to me, she replied simply, "Just thinking."

I frowned. "So you've been in here, thinking, for four hours? What are you thinking about exactly?" I ask. She doesn't answer me still, but looks over at me finally.

"Close the door." She tells me. I nod and do as she says. Sighing, she answers my question. "O, I don't know what to do. We might have to go to war, and I'm out of ideas."

"Wait, wait, wait, wait. What do you mean we might have to go to war?" I go and sit next to her on the bed.

"The Ice Nation is coming for a meeting with Lexa and the other clans in three days. I do not need to be there, but Lexa said she wanted me be. She worries she can't do it alone. Even with the help of the other 11 clans." I sit there quietly for a few minutes, trying to wrap my head around the idea of war. "O, say something," she tells me.

I look over at her, still not knowing what to say. "What do you want me to do? I'm sure I can think of something." And then it struck me. Commander Lexa worries she can't do it alone, and she told Clarke of all people, of those worries. Yes, they are both leaders, but the way they act around each other explains it all.

"That's just the problem, I have no idea what to do. Octavia, what will happen if we can't defeat the Ice Clan?" I look at her and shrug.

"There's nothing we can do. But I doubt they'll lose. I mean, the Commander has the army of 11 clans on her side. How is it possible that they lose against one clan?" We sit there for a good ten minutes in silence thinking of what to do. But it still crosses my mind about Lexa and Clarke. So I decide to ask her. "Clarke?"

"Yeah?" she says, looking over at me.

"Are you and the Commander. . . uh. . ." I trail off, hoping she'll get the hint. She rolls over onto her stomach, burying her face in her pillow and groans. "So it is true!" I laugh. "I knew it! I mean, you two are so. . . what's the word? Different? Around each other, I don't know." She groans again into her pillow, which makes me laugh harder. "Oh let's face it Princess, you are so whipped for that girl."

"I am not whipped," Clarke says into her pillow. "And stop calling me Princess! You and Bellamy both." She looks up at me finally.

I smile, "Oh yes you are."

She sighs, "You can't tell anyone, O. It could mean the end of Lexa's commandership. Her people might not allow it."

I nod. "Don't worry, it will be kept under lock and key. Now," I say, getting up off of her bed, "Let's go celebrate a peace treaty. Forget about war for a little bit." I pull her up off the bed and we head outside to enjoy the festivities.
