Present Day
"Now that everyone is here, I would like to say a thing or two before officially starting. Nothing that is said in this room will leave this room. If I find out is has been talked about outside of this room, blood will be shed. Do I make myself clear?"
"Sha, Heda."
"Sit," I demand. Everyone takes a seat around the table in the center of the room. Where was I going to begin? Oh, I remember, "This meeting was called because I would like to prevent war from happening. As you can tell, some in particular would have no problem with going in that direction. Although, this would mean many deaths in every clan, and none of us want that." Most everyone nods at my statement which makes me glad.
Nia, the Ice Queen, stands and slams her hands down on the table. "You do not want war? Azgeda will have war if you do not deliver what is wanted by my clan!" I know exactly what she is talking about, but I refuse to give her any details.
"If you agree to my terms and leave with peace toward me and my clans, you may have what you asked of. Until then, you get nothing." She gives me the nastiest look she can muster as her hand sneakily moves toward a dagger hidden in her armour. I take a quick glance at Clarke, who looks very confused about what is going on. I will have to explain all of this to her later. I notice that a few of my guards seem to see Nia's movements as well, and they move their hands over their own weapons. I nod at them, and they take out their swords.
"Take your hand away from your weapon, Ice Queen," one of my guards hiss.
"Take Nia and her guards away. I do not want to see them again until this has settled. Is that clear?"
"Sha, Heda." They leave, escorting the queen and her guards out and away from the hut.
"I will have what is mine Commander. You will have war!" She yells as she puts up a struggle. Although the more she does that, the more pain will be afflicted on the one she wants. It's part of war. Or, what will be war.
"Now that that is over, is there anything anyone would like to say about war beginning once again now that our visitor has made it clear there will be another?" I look around the room, shaking heads are all I see. "Good. Now leave before I decide to do something you wish not to see." All of the generals stand up, exiting the hut.
"Lexa, what is going on? I was sitting there confused as hell the entire time," Clarke chimes in once everyone is gone.
"There will be war, Clarke. This means you need to go back to your people immediately to inform them."
She frowns. "But since you have the Ice Queen here, in your hands, doesn't that mean you can kill her and not have war?"
I shake my head. "No, even if we did kill her, she still has an army waiting for us already. If they got word of her death, her generals would most likely attack us and your people as well. We cannot have that." I look at Clarke, her hair hanging loose around her shoulders. I wish there was nothing to worry about and we could just be together, but sadly, that is not the case. "Come, let me take you back to one of the horses. I will have a couple of my guards take you back to your camp so you can tell your people of the happenings here."
"Will I be able to come back?" she asks, walking closer to me. I swallow, why am I nervous? Sad, maybe? I nod my head.
"Eventually. But not right away. In one week, we will be traveling to Polis, the capital, and official war plans will be drawn out. Only then will we be able to see each other once again. I promise you that Clarke." She gives me a small smile and kisses me on the lips gently.
"One week. I can do that." We exit the hut and head towards the horses. She hops onto one and looks down at me. "See ya then, Commander." I smile as she takes off down the path, two of my guards behind her.
So, what do you think? I know you may be confused, hell, I'm even a little confused and I wrote it. Hang in there, I have a great idea for upcoming chapters.
I also do apologize for the late updates. I don't want to make the "I have school" excuse again, but...I have to. I have tests this week and one last week I had to study for. This wasn't the longest chapter ever, but hopefully that will change.
