Present Day

I sit on my bed thinking about how I am going to solve my problem of Titus being a traitor to his people; to me. I can't kill him; I would never get Clarke back if I did that. Instead, I must find the conspirator who helped him. I know Titus could never have done this alone. What I don't understand though is why. Why would he do this to me? How could he? He was my teacher! I learned all of my skills from him, he was like a father to me, and now. . THIS? I can't even believe it. I don't want to believe it. Right now though, I need to think about Clarke; I need to save her from whatever torture she must be going through right now. I must save her. I have to.

I soon figure out what I am going to do about Titus. I send six of my best warriors out to look for anyone who has the brand of the Ice Nation, because I know for a fact that it has to be them who took Clarke.  Soon enough, one returns with an Ice Nation person in chains. I smile cynically at the man. "Good work. Go nau en look gon mo." The warrior bows and leaves the room. I look down at the man who was standing in chains before me. "What do I do with you?" I ask, more to myself than to him.

"Please, Heda. I have done nothing wrong," he begs, but I give him absolutely no mercy. Clarke's life was at stake, and if killing this man is what I have to do to get information, then I will.

I frown and shake my head. "You will tell me what I need to know, or you will die before you see the next sunrise. Do I make myself clear?" He looks up at me, frightened, but does not say anything. "Who else in Polis is part of Ice Nation? Who else takes orders from Nia?"

"I don't know, Heda." He sits there looking at me, like I'm going to believe him. Of course this isn't true.

"Oh but you do," I get closer to him, and this time I draw my blade from its sheath on my side. "Now," I say as I touch the blade to his neck, "who in Polis takes their orders from Nia?"

"Ai badan yu op en nou moun."

"Not a good enough answer." I run the blade down the side of his face creating a cut from ear to ear. "I know what I'm going to do with you now," I smile. I call one of my guards into my room and have him take the man to the war room. "Have someone else retrieve queen Nia. I have an idea."

"What is this about?" I hear as I take a seat on my throne. I look up to see Nia being brought into the room.

"Chain her to that pole right there. I want her to see everything that happens here. Bring him in!" I yell. Another guard brings in the man from earlier, except this time, his head is covered by a cloth and his hands are bound behind his back. "Nia, when is the last time you saw your son?" I ask.

She frowns, and looks from me to the man on his knees. "What is this? That is not my son, is it?"

I smile at her, and motion for someone to bring me a sword. "Well, I can tell you that he won't be your son soon. He will be just another decomposing corpse soon."

She looks as if she were about to pass out. "WHY? Why are you doing this?"

"Because I want information, and I intend to get it. You give me the information I want, your son lives. If not, then he dies. Your choice." I see her weigh her choices. She's indecisive and can't tell whether I'm bluffing or not. I quickly walk over to the man and slit his throat without another thought. Nia screams. "You took too long to answer, so obviously anyone who has to think about whether they want to save their own blood born or not, should get to see their blood die." I watch her expression with a smile on my face. She has tears streaming down her cheeks, not knowing what to do.

"Now. . .now you will never get information on Clarke. I know that's who you wanted to know about, right? Well now all you get is that she will be dead very soon, you had better believe that."

"Get her out of here! Don't let anyone see her. I want her isolated from any outside contact, do you understand!?" I yell, looking around the room. A series of "yes, Heda" choruses around the room. "Good." I let out a much needed sigh and return to my room.
