Years of waiting and searching have led me to this place. Gears High. I hope she's here. How long has it been since she's seen me? 10? 20? 30 years perhaps? She doesn't remember a thing though, that's a fact. But I do remember. At the very least. I remember her. Out of all the things that I have forgotten, she wasn't one of those.
I went in and talked to the principal. Looks like I have to adapt to this new environment. Not that I haven't mastered the art of fitting-in. After all, several hundred years of doing the same thing over and over again, you'll get all the practice you'll need.
The hallway was filled with various teenagers that kept worrying about their looks, their grades, exams, or some other stuff that the school was pressuring them to be good at because of the annoying education system. Suddenly something caught my attention from all the mediocre happenings around school.
"Ow!"
"Watch where you're going loser!" A big muscular teen just 'accidentally' bumped and toppled all of the books a kid was holding.
"I-i'm sorry." He was shaking furiously.
Oh one of those high school bullies I suppose.
"Hey Johnson. Don't you have to be late for ditching class?" A girl moved to help the kid as he continued to pick up his books. "Besides you were the one who bumped into him."
I couldn't help but to stare at the girl who was defending the boy. There she was. The one I've been searching for. Striken in awe I couldn't help but to just stare at her. It was like my heart was beating 3 times faster than normal. My stomach started to get all fuzzy and blood began rushing through my veins.
I was just about to come up and help her, when suddenly the school bell rang.
"Consider yourself lucky Morrow." The big dude gave one last scowl at her and turned the other way to walk off.
Hmmm, Morrow. I'll be sure to remember her name. Though I didn't want to look like a creepy guy who was just caught staring so I decided to just blend in with the crowd and head over to the admissions office in order to get my class schedule. Hopefully I get to meet her in at least one of my classes.
I glanced at my watch. This was very tiring and yet not one sight from the girl from before. School was almost over and at the very least I was only required to attend my last two classes. Though the trip to the admissions office took longer than expected since the head couldn't shut up about how wonderful it was to have more students transferring and enrolling. Well at that very least that was over with, now I just have to worry about Homeroom and Chemistry.
I headed towards Homeroom and held out my late transfer papers to the teacher.
"Alright Mister Overwood." He patted my shoulder. "Why don't we head inside?"
"Yes Sir." I managed a smile.
The teacher went in first. He seemed like a nice person. Though I couldn't help but to notice his receding hairline.
A few minutes after he went in, he motioned for me to come in.
"Introduce yourself." He said.
"Hey, my name's Klei Overwood." I scratched behind my head and smirked. "I'm just new here so I hope you guys can show me the ropes."
At the corner of my eye I found her. Miss Morrow. I glanced over at her and gave a smile, trying not to be so obvious. It took a while but well she turned her head over to look at me too.
