Sister? I looked at the figure emerging from the shadows with disbelief. She didn't look anything like Klei. Murderous eyes that glowed an intense shade of red, her sclera was black instead of white, lips that appeared to not move because they were sewn together in x marks by thread, which made me wonder how she was able to speak to us, skin that was really pale, white snow would've been jealous if it had feelings. Her hair was the as black as ebony and it messily went down to her hips, though it scatter and covered most of her face. She was really thin, bony thin at that matter and you could practically trace her collarbones and put water in the space that was clearly visible there.
I clenched on Klei's arm, hiding behind him even more and leaning on his back a bit because my feet were starting to feel weak with just her presence. There seemed to be some sort of intimidating vibe around the girl who claimed to be his sister, which I felt in an instant. Strange. This is the first time I've ever felt such a strong presence.
"I see you've found her Royal Highness then." She smirked. "Though it's a shame. Your reunion would come to a short."
"What do you mean?" Klei's tone sounded threatening.
"Ohh you'll find out." A chuckle came out from her mouth.
She then proceeded to look around and in about a minute or two a monstrous wail echoed throughout the hallway. It was horrible. The sound copied that like of several animals being tortured to death and raised a pitch higher. I covered my ears for it made my head hurt as I fell down on my knees with my eyes shut.
"Giselle!" Klei turned around to hold me.
How is he not affected by those screams at all? Instead he looked just calm and worried about me. Weren't his ears hurting at all?
The wail continued on for a few seconds more until it suddenly toned down. A loud rumbling followed soon after, like thunder and lightning hitting the roof of the school building all at once.
"I suggest you guys turn around and run away." She giggled. "Things are about to get messy."
With that she slowly disappeared into the darkness, melting away like it was part of her.
We both stood there in silence for a while, I guess we were both shocked about the recent happenings, first sime magic spell surrounding the school, then a weird voice telling us to come up to the rooftop, and then Klei's supposed "sister", I'm still not buying the act though, suddenly pops out of nowhere.
Without any other notice I felt Klei's arms go under my knees and behind my back, lifting me up from the ground.
"Giselle, I'm sorry but we have to leave this place now." His head was lowered, so I couldn't exactly see his expression.
"Leave? Are we coming back?"
"I'm afraid we aren't. Things are becomming dangerous and well, I don't know if I can protect you myself." His grip slightly tightened around me.
"Wait? Not coming back?" My eyes widened in surprise. "What about school? What about Anna?"
"You have to leave them behind. I'm sorry but there's no other choice." His voice was firm and commanding.
"But...."
"Giselle just stop!" Although it was still as commanding as earlier, his voice faltered a bit. "I am not taking no for an answer."
Without any other word Klei started to run towards the doors of the school, while still carrying me in his arms. As soon as we got out Klei soread his wings and proceeded to fly towards the direction of the apartment Anna and I shared.
