Uta x Reader : Forgive Me

2° Intercepting

{warning: kinda a spoiler from the manga and show. Not exactly how it went, but my friend still saw it as a spoiler so warning it is.}

"i can't believe my eyes,
i'm terrified."

"Ah, delicious!"

My legs suddenly jolted towards Kaneki, tumbling down to the floor on him- his blood spilling everywhere.

"I caught you!"

Her kagune wrapped around the both of us soon after, throwing us against the concrete wall. Despite the amount of bones that were undoubtedly broken and possible internal bleeding, I pull Kaneki up and start running with the rush of adrenaline to get the hell away from her as far as we could. But in my ignorance, I thought there was even a chance for us to get away- for us humans to get away.

Feeling my adrenaline run low, I turn to Kaneki to only see her kagune pierce through his abdominal- with only seconds to realize she did the same with me. Everything, every part of my body is in pain. It's too much, and the last thing I hear is heavy metal colliding to the ground.

Where ever I'm at, it's warm. Where am I? Machines are beeping and people seem to be talking hurriedly. A chest leans against my back, and hands cover my eyes gently. The second the said person removes their hands, I feel myself waking up cold and feeling..different. Ah, I'm in a hospital with ivy's and a mask upon my face. Did whatever I hear, fall on me as well? I tried to sit up, but pain and soreness ran through my body. Groaning I laid back down and used the bed to incline myself up.

I was brought food, but I couldn't seem to find myself working up an appetite. The nurse sighed as she noticed I wouldn't be touching my food no longer, taking it away. The doctor soon after comes in and asks a few questions, and before I'm released I ask,

"Where's Kankei?"

"Oh, the boy that was with you? He's fine, he actually left earlier today and came to see you, but you were asleep during the time. He wrote his number on a small paper if you wanted to contact him."

The doctor hands a torn paper that had Kaneki's number on it, with the small message:
"call me as soon as you leave."

I was finally released, calling him when I passed through the doors into the cold night heading home. 2 rings in he answers and I hear his voice, sounding if he's out of breath,

"What's going on?"

"Huh?"

"You weren't hungry either, were you?"

"..N-no"

"Ugh..gh..I can't help but want flesh, haven't you felt it?"

"Flesh? Are you out of your mind? Only gho-"

Suddenly I stopped in the middle of a crowded street, everything a blur as I realized my heart was racing and my stomach growling in need for..
people?

"Hello? Are you still there? Answ-"

"No..no no no. This can't be happening right now."

Running as far as I could, I hid in an alley as I felt something surge through me.

"Kaneki, where do you live?"

"Wha- why?!"

"I don't think we can handle whatever is going on alone. I need to get away from here!"

After telling me his address and a generalization of where he lived, I was at his doorstep in no time. Knocking a little too loud, I yelled through the door "Open up! It's me!"
