{warning: kinda a spoiler from the manga and show. Not exactly how it went, but my friend still saw it as a spoiler so warning it is.}

"My tongue is loving the taste of skin between my teeth."

The next morning I woke up startled from a nightmare. Realizing I was in the comfort of my room, I sighed and walked to the bathroom to freshen up.

"That nightmare felt way too real, I was even able to feel how much pain I was in." Yawning in front of the mirror, I looked at my reflection seeing the same me. While I started getting ready, I hear my stomach grumble loudly. Finishing what I was doing, I look up back to the mirror- to see my right eye a deep black and red.

"Mm, so it wasn't just a nightmare after all."

Sighing once more, I threw on my warmest clothes and headed out in attempt to look for something to eat on my own. I really underestimated how difficult 'hunting for food' was, having a white patch covering my eye since I knew every human I passed made me close to insane. With each passing moment being out in the city only deemed to grow more difficult. Taking a closer look at my surroundings, I realized I wasn't in the most safest part of town. And as if I had jinxed it, I felt a tight grip on my arm. Looking to my right suddenly, I stared at the culprit and made no hesitation to ask:

"What do you want?"

"Ooh? Well that wasn't the reaction I was hoping for."

"What did you want? For me to scream and beg to let me go?"

"Yes actually."

"Whatever."

Pulling away with my new-found strength, I continued to walk away from the stranger. Huh, but I do admit, he was nice to look at. The undercut he had, the tattoo around his neck, how he-
oh goodness, don't tell me I'm taking a liking to a stranger.

"You shouldn't starve yourself."

Turning around, I simply blink and look at him.

"What do you mean?"

"It's not that hard to tell when we're hungry."

"We?"

"Mmhm. We're ghouls, are we not?"

"Tch. So? I'll find something to eat eventually."

"Mm, have this for a snack then."

He took something out of his pocket, and tossed it to me. It landed in my palm, the texture slimy and wet. Taking a closer look at it, I made a face of disgust as I looked back at him.

"An eyeball. Really?"

"They're my favorite."

Shrugging, I hesitantly placed the eyeball in my mouth. Deciding to just get it over with, I bit into it and started chewing. Finishing, I said:

"You know..it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be."

"Told you."

Slightly laughing, I looked back to him.

"Thanks...uhm.."

"Uta."

Thank you then, Uta."

"Anytime, _______."

"How did you-?"

He smiled and turned around walking to wherever he came from.

"Wait!"
