Poison Kiss

Chapter 14:

Ashlynn's POV:

I carefully stepped across the threshold and into the house, butterflies still dancing maniacally in my stomach. Sadie sat calmly at the kitchen counter, gazing at the door as if she had been waiting for me.

As soon as I had enter the house and closed the door, she pounced on me. "Why did you leave me alone with him?!" she asked grumpily. "He's been hitting on me for the past hour!"

I frowned. "Who," I asked. "Nico?"

"No!" she said in a frustrated tone. "Santa Claus! Of course it's that fucking annoying son of a-"

"Ahem!" we both turned to see Nico standing in the doorway, his face smeared with random bits of make up. "You!" he roared. "Conniving seductive witch in succubus form!!!"

I covered my mouth with my hand to muffle the laughter escaping from my lips.

Sadie raised her eyebrows. "I'm a seductress?" she laughed. "Last I checked, you were the one stalking me."

Nico scowled. "You seduced me into your room in order to splatter me with these absurd cosmetics!" he exclaimed indignantly, gesturing to his colorful face.

At this point, I could not longer contain myself and burst out laughing. "So that's w-why you resemble a f-five year old's Barbie doll." I choked out.

Nico grimaced and dashed out of the room, while Sadie gave me a funny look. I shook my head and slowly took control of my laughter, trailing off until my lungs were empty.

Sadie shook her head in amusement. "God Ash. I did think you had it in you."

I shrugged my shoulders. "It's been a while since I've laughed like that or seen something that amusing. It kind of reminded me of the time we chased our cousin around and splattered him in lip gloss."

Sadie snickered. "He deserved it for breaking the head off of my Barbie doll."

A loud grunting noise rang out from the bathroom. I rolled my eyes. "I'm going to go see if Nico is alright." A loud crashing noise echoed down the hallway and I began jogging toward the bathroom. When I reached the doorway, I peered in, and saw a makeup covered Nico sprawled on the tile floor. Part of me hoped that he was alright, and the other three forths was laughing it's ass off.

"N-nico!" I choked out in between my suffocating maniacal giggles. "What happened?"

Nico scowled at my obvious amusement in his current predicament. "Your devious sister thought that it would be hilarious if she poured oil on the floor and powdered half the floor with more cosmetics."

I heard Sadie cackling from the kitchen and grinned broadly. "That's Sadie for you."

"Humph." Nico grumbled, pushing himself up off the ground and attempting to dust some of the makeup out of his hair. After he realized that it wasn't coming out without some serious scrubbing, he sighed in defeat and let his hands drop lifelessly to his sides. "See if I come back any time soon." Nico shoved past me and stalked down the hallway. I heard him flop onto the couch and prayed that he hadn't made a mess. Mom would kill us if anything outside of our rooms was out of place when she got home.

Sadie scurried over to the bathroom and dashed inside. "Crap!" she exclaimed. "I really need to clean this up before mom gets home. I'm really not in the mood to be slaughtered tonight."

I scratched my head, trying to come up with a solution to the greasy makeup splattered floor. "I could help.." I offered halfheartedly.

"No, it's fine." Sadie shooed me out the door. "You go take care of Nico."
