Chapter Forty One

*Hyolyn's POV*

I can't even begin to comprehend what's happening right now.

One minute Wonwoo walks in with a bruise on his cheek, the next... We're eloping? Running away forever?

Is this a Disney movie or something, am I missing something, some detail that everyone else knows?

"You sure?" He asked, as we walked up the stairs of the pretty big building that looked fancy.

"But what about your friends? The dream you worked so hard for, you can't throw it all away," I stopped walking.

"I can, and I will. If I don't, he will find us, and he will get what he wants. There's no stopping him jagi, you don't know him like I do," his voice trailed off as he rubbed the back of his neck.

Grabbing my hands he stated right into my eyes. Felt like he was piecing my soul to be honest.

"I'm sure they'll understand. If not... No, they will do well without me," he rested his forehead on mine. "You've been through enough shit. I swore I would protect you. And I will," he lead me up the stairs. At the top I saw my old boss, stood with roses.

"Apparently you need a witness?" He smiled, handing me a rose.

"I called him. Only he knows," Wonwoo looked over.

This is all... Wow. Am I really going to do this? My head hurts.

Okay Hyolyn. Get a grip girl. Get a good grip.

His hand placed in mine, we reached the doors, opening them to reveal a busy reception.

To the right read 'registry office'. How convenient.

"You know, the night of your birthday, your cheeks were the brightest pink I had ever seen. It was the happiest I had ever witnessed you to be, and I knew there was a guy. This is a good guy Hyolyn," my boss smiled again.

Stopping, I gave him a hug. He was always there when something went wrong. Always defended me in some way, gave me a purpose (mostly money to get away) to keep going. Keep living.

And I'm so glad I did.

"You ready?" He whispered, taking my arm. Looking back to Wonwoo who walked over, I nodded.

Heart pounding.

Hands shaking.

Eyes watering.

I'm ready.

"Do you both take each other for better or worse, sickness or in health?" The woman behind the screen of glass said.

"I do," we both said at the same time.

"For richer for poorer, in sickness and in health?" Her voice was monotone.

"Yep," Wonwoo smiled. "I mean uh, I do," he nodded, his mishap leading to a disapproving stare by the woman. Looking to me, I bit my lip.

"I do," I felt Wonwoo's hand tighten around mine.

"Sign here here and here, congratulations," she sounded bored now, smacking the gum around her mouth and twiddling her pen.

I'm starting to wonder if this is legal. Then again, she is wearing a priest outfit. And it does have a certificate of marriage practice on the window.

Shrugging, I signed.

"I love you," Wonwoo but his lip, holding up my hand, pushing a ring on. "And I'm sorry this isn't the princess wedding little girls dream of. The one I want to give to you. But-" I but him off with a kiss, before sliding his ring on.
