Chapter 4

Ratliff's POV

The birthday of Reece, Riley and our princess Skylar went by quickly. It's been 3 weeks since. Roxy and Nicole have been acting strange lately. As their Uncle, I'm going to find out what's going on.

I go up to Roxy's room.

I knock lightly and wait for a reply.

"Come in!"-Roxy

I opened the door and sat on her bed.

"What's up?"-Roxy

"As your uncle, you can tell me anything right..."-Ratliff

"Of course, your my best uncle, I'm more close to you... I tell you everything why?"-Roxy

"Why have you been acting strange lately?"-Ratliff's

"Have I? I hadn't noticed..."-Roxy

Her voice was unconvincing.

"Roxy..."-Ratliff

She looks at me.

"Why was you throwing up this morning?"-Ratliff

She looks down at her thumbs that she seems to be fiddling with.

"Uncle Ratliff...I-I think that Im Pregnant..."- Roxy

"This is like history repeating itself..."-Ratliff

"What do you mean?"-Roxy

"Well... when we was teenagers, we done the same thing. Your mum and your aunt Rydel found out they was pregnant on the same day, then the next day found out that Raini was pregnant. Your dad didn't want anything to do with your mum and left her, but your mums dad kicked her out, so she went and lived with Stormie. She was so supportive of her and Rydel. Then when your dad found out your mum was having twins, he was even more angry. But when you was born, your mum and dad was the only people there. They was home alone, it was then that your dad realised he made a mistake, so he took your mum back."-Ratliff

"What about you and aunt Rydel?"-Roxy

"Well... that was another story... your aunt Rydel thought that a guy called Danny was the father of Tristan, I didn't even know that I was the father of him. All through the pregnancy I supported Rydel. Even though I loved her and she didn't know. When she went into labour, I was the only one there. I drove her to the hospital, her waters broke in my car... All over the seat. It really upset me that she was having a baby with another guy. Deep down I wished it was my baby. I held her hand through the whole thing. Then when the nurse came in and told me I was the dad, I was the happiest man alive! When we told everybody, they thought we was joking, but when they knew we were serious they were happy for us. I moved in after that."-Ratliff

"And Calum and Raini?"-Roxy

"They supported each other through the whole thing, your mum was the one who delivered Nicole... at home. Rydel helped her, but she was heavily pregnant so it was hard for her to do much."-Ratliff

"Uncle Ratliff... I'm scared..."-Roxy

I have her a huge hug.

"How did this happen?"-Ratliff

"Well... Ryder, Tristan, Nicole and I all snuck out to go to a party, we all got drunk... one thing led to another..."-Roxy

"You all snuck out? Tristan is in deep trouble!"-Ratliff

She laughed and then I hugged her again.

"Come on let's go..."-Ratliff

"Where to?"-Roxy

"The clinic... There's only one way to find out!"-Ratliff

"Okay... what do we tell my parents?"-Roxy

"Nothing... we just run out the door, straight to my car... got it?"-Ratliff

"This is why your my favourite uncle!"-Roxy

I smile.

"Okay... on the count of three... 1...2...3...RUN!"-Ratliff

We run straight out of the door and into the car.

We arrive at the clinic and I can tell that Roxy is nervous.

When we get in there we make an appointment and wait in the waiting room.

10 minutes later...

Dr Jensen pops her head out of the door and calls Roxy's name. I follow Roxy into the room and she lays on the bed.

"Ellington Ratliff?"- Dr Jensen

"Hey, Dr Jensen... Long time no see!"-Ratliff

"How's Rydel,Tristan and Skylar?"-Dr Jensen

"They're good."-Ratliff

"Excellent... so you must be Roxy Lynch?"-Dr Jensen

Roxy nods.

"I remember when your mum came in here, I was with her all through her pregnancy, I even delivered you!"Dr Jensen

Roxy laughed.

"Okay... so go pee into this pot and I'll take it down to the lab."-Dr Jensen

Roxy does what she needs to in the bathroom and then hands the pot to Dr Jensen.

We wait anxiously as she takes the pot to the lab.

When she arrives back she looks at her clipboard and then looks at Roxy...

"Well Miss Lynch... you are indeed pregnant...congratulations!"-Dr Jensen

Roxy begins to cry, I go over and hug her, she buries her head into my neck. I pick her up bridal style. I thank Dr Jensen and then carry her to the car.

We drive to Starbucks and I order her favourite and a regular coffee for me.

"Don't worry, I'll support you through all of this."-Ratliff

"Please don't tell anyone... can this be our little secret?"-Roxy

"Okay... but you gotta tell them at some point"-Ratliff

She nods and looks down

"Thanks Ratliff! I'm so glad your my uncle..."- Roxy

"Anytime"- Ratliff

We stayed there for a little while longer before we made our way back home.

I hug her one last time before she goes to her room.

We have a special bond. An Uncle-Niece Connection. I know all of her secrets. I'm good at keeping secrets.

When we sit down and eat dinner Roxy has guilt written all over her face.

I give her a reassuring smile and she smiles back.

When everybody goes to bed she is the only person awake. I sit with her on the couch. She is watching 'The Backup Plan'.

"I'm hungry..."- Roxy

I jump up and run into the kitchen.

I grab the jar of pickles and then get the ice cream from the freezer.

I take the bowl to her and she thanks me.

"What is this?"-Roxy

"Pickles & Ice Cream! Your mum, Rydel and Raini used to sit there eating it all day when they were pregnant!"-Ratliff

"Thank you!"-Roxy

Soon after she fell asleep. So I picked her up and tucked her into bed.

I kissed her forehead and left the room.

I snuggle in with Rydel and I instantly fall asleep.
