It has been a long since I went to an actual school. My mom did not like the idea that I couldn't make any friends so she decided that I should be home-schooled. Todd, mom's boyfriend, taught me the math and sciences while my mother taught me how to write expository and persuasive essays at 9. Todd told me when I go back to school, I would surely be a valedictorian. The thought me smile and I hugged Todd thanking him for the lessons he had taught me. I decided to become an astrophysicist like Todd. He taught me the basics of physics when I was 13 then the basics of astrophysics last year. I felt so caught up with everything. I hoped that one day I would be attending Caltech and recieve my doctoral degree at an instant.

"You know Rio, I bought you a Christmas gift that I hope would make up all of your other gifts you couldn't recieve from me." He handed me a wrapped present but I didn't hear him since I had my headphones on. He poked me with the corner of the present and sighed. "I'm sorry.." I removed my headphones and grabbed the gift. I never really got Christmas gifts like toys when I was a kid. When I lived with mom and Todd, all that I got were tests and if I passed them with an A+, I would go to the movies. I did not say that I didn't like it over there, it was great but I have hope that coming back would be even better.

We arrived home. Wow. It looks the same. My dad was grabbing luggage but I stopped him. "Are you sure you can handle them?" "Yes I can, but all I need is for you to hold this." I handed him my present. "Thank you for the gift by the way.", I smile. He nodded and opened my door as i held my things to my room. Ugh I forgot we had stairs.

As I sat my things down, the only thing I opened was my gift. A brand new laptop! This is just what I need to continue with my astrophysics studies! I pulled out my flash drive and started typing out my research paper from my notes.
