"Tonya, please let me in. I just want to know why you hate me!"
I wait approximately 3 minutes for her response but nothing happened.. I decided to go down stairs until I see her peeking through her door.
"Don't even bother Tonya, I'm not even going to put up a fight."
She closes her down and I continue walking down stairs, then I began to see everyone chatting until their eyes pointed my direction as I walked in.
Mrs. McMillan stands up and gives me a concerned look. "Anything darling?"
I nod no to her and sat down next to Tyler.
"Don't worry 'darling', I will take care of this when you guys leave.", says Tyler as he plays with my hair laying his head against mine.
*** 2 hours later***
"Well that was fun.", my dad says as he laughs while rubbing his stomach.
"It was fun because you practically ate everything there. You barely even had a chance to eat pie."
"Well that just proved that your boyfriend's family can cook!" Dad giggled and opened the door for me as I entered our home.
I sigh and as i head upstairs, I stop and turn to my Dad who was following up behind me. "Dad.. I have this deep-down gut feeling that Tonya doesn't fond me in her presence."
Dad sighs and we continue walking upstairs.
I lay down on my bed and sigh while looking up at my ceiling. "What did I do wrong? Why did i do to deserve this hatred? Why do I care that she does or doesn't like me?"I go to the bathroom to take a shower with the many questions in my head. I let the warm water pour on the smooth back of my neck with my head down still wondering why.
After I get out, I change into my pajamas and as I brush my hair I see Tyler trying to talk to me through from his window.
"Rio!", He shouted then we hear a neighbor shut him up. I giggle and run to my window opening it.
"Hey Rio, what did you think about the thanksgiving dinner!? I'm sorry we didn't get to talk after dinner since things got complicated with my sister!"
"You Tyler McMillan are quite the chef! My dad came home with his Santa Claus belly!"We both laugh and continue on with the conversation even though it involved shouting across each other's windows. At times we had to get a glass of water just so that we wouldn't get a sore throat.
My dad knocks on my door.
"Sorry Tyler, I have to go! My dad's waiting outside my door!"
"I understand! I'll see you tomorrow at school!"
"I'll see you tomorrow my 'night' in shining armour!"
"Goodnight my precious little river!"
I smile and blow him a kiss as he blows one back.
I close my window running to my nightstand putting on my glasses and rushed to open my door.
"Hi dad. What's uhhh.. what's happenin'?"
He scratches his head with his hair all over the place clearly indicating that he was sleeping. "What's with all the shou- Who were you talking to?"
He yawned and I play with my fingers and fix my glasses. "What do you mean dad?"
"You were shouting. I can hear you from my room and my room is 2 rooms away from yours. I am not crazy."
"I didn't say you were crazy dad, of course I was shouting."
"Why? It's getting late already, you should be sleeping. Even I was asleep but then you woke me up with your shouting."
"I was shouting becaussssse. I was shouting becausssssse." I play with my fingers more, trying to come up with a good excuse.
"Don't tell me you joined theatre arts. You know I'm not a fan of that Rio."
God no. Even I don't like acting ,but I'm going to go with it.
"I'm sorry dad, but yes I'm in theatre arts. I'm practicing for this play where I play a female captain on a ship traveling across the seven seas!"
He face palms. "When is the play?"
I stood there frozen. I gulp and come up with another excuse lie. "It's a work in progress dad so yeah, you understand right?"
He face palms again and sighs.
"Is this shouting going to happen more often?"I giggle and nod.
"Alright. Goodnight sweetie."
"Goodnight dad."
He walks back to his room practically dragging his feet along with him.
I really did wake him up. I feel bad because I'm going to shout through my window more often now now that I'm with Tyler.
I put my glasses on my nightstand and turn off the light from my lamp.
Goodnight everyone.
