Finally it's lunch time! Why does the school take so long!?

I grab my lunch and sit down. I'm not a fan of sandwiches, but I'm starving! When I was at Colorado, I had lunch whenever I wanted and wherever. I look around for Kyle, but to my surprise someone else down in front of me.

Who is she? Is she one of Tyler's side girls? Why would she want to sit with me?

She greets me with a handshake. She's nice, unlike other people. "Hello I'm Theresa Heathens, you must be the new student everyone's talking about." I nod while biting into my sandwich. "Are you a shy person because I felt as if I startled you when I sat down." I nod no and swallow my bite. I clear my throat and drink water to reply. "I'm not shy at all, my name is Rio Lane." I shake her hand. "I do not want to sound rude, but why did you want to sit with me?". She stands up and grabs her lunch. "I'm the class president, I wanted to know who you are and are you valedictorian material?". I nod and continue eating my sandwich. She stares at me as if i was a threat to her. I look up at her and she smiles and walks back to her table.

"Hey Rio". Yes! Kyle arrived! As I turn around to see him. "Hi Ky-". That's not Kyle. It's Tyler... I look away and sigh. He sits down and smiles at me. "It's been a long time since we've seen each other Rio, why haven't you called me?". I ignored him and look around for Kyle. He gives me a concerning look. "Rio? Is everything alright? Did I do something wrong?". Again I ignore him. He grabs my hand softly and tries looking into my eyes. I began to blush as he grabbed my hand and looked at him. He smiles with his devilish smile and kisses my hand. I gasp a little and take my hand away. "Rio this is really bothering me. Please say something to me." I look at him and get up. "Bye Tyler." I walk away and begin tearing up. I fix my glasses and Kyle comes up to me. "Whoa whoa whoa, is everything alright? I thought we were having lunch together." I sigh and smile at him. "As it turns out, I'm not very hungry. I'll see you later Kyle." He stops me and puts his hands on my shoulders. "Look Rio if anything's bothering you, I'm here for you okay?" I nod and smile. "Thanks Kyle. I'll keep that in mind, see you later." He nods and looks at where i was sitting. He sees Tyler and sits with him.

***hours later***

I walk out hoping dad was already outside. Nope. I sigh and lean against the wall waiting. I check my phone and realize it's almost been an hour already.

"Need a ride?" I turn around and see Tyler leaning on his car.
