Chapter 29: Sadness In His Eyes

Ross POV

I woke up and yawned. Good morning sun. I notice something. Ryland is not in bed.... I'm usually up before him, is something wrong?

I run downstairs to find my mom walking nervously in circles biting her nails nervously.

"Mom... What's up?" I ask her making her sit on the couch. She bursts out crying.

"Rydel ran away!" My mom cries. Oh my god.

I rush up to Rydel's room. Sure enough, she's not here. She can't be far.

I start walking when I stop. I peek into Riker and Rocky's room. Rocky and Riker were staring at a cherry.

"What are you guys doing?" I ask creeped out a little by them staring at a cherry.

"It's all my fault." Rocky says sadly.

"She... Said she loved me but I thought she wouldn't leave! It's all my fault for not stopping her!" Riker says on the verge of crying.

I take their cherries and eat them. They looked at me like I took their phones and crushed them. I hug my brothers and cry along with Riker.

"Guys come downstairs! I have news!" My dad yells at us. All of us look at each other and run downstairs.

Everyone sat on the couch. Mom was still crying in Ryland's shoulder. I hate seeing my mom cry... Actually I hate seeing anyone cry.

"Ratliff's mom called. She said Ratliff isn't home. So I think Rydel is safe as long as she's with Ratliff-"

"IT'S ALL MY FAULT!!!! I hate myself! How could I not tell that she was running away!" Riker yells making everyone shocked at his reaction.

Riker looked at us. You could tell he was sad by his eyes. Everyone looked at each other. We all had the shocked look.

Sure Riker is a real great brother but.... We never thought he'd go nuts like this.
