My hatred for Joseph Forvatore was not shared between The Hunter's Academy. Which was a shame because if people listened to me, they're lives would be a whole lot better.

Joseph was a curse. Obnoxious, appalling, heinous, all words used to describe him. I could not fathom how girls were attracted to this particular piece of shit.

"Forvatore! Matthias! We don't have all day" Our instructor spat out. I rose my eyes from the floor until they connected with Joseph's. I don't know how long we had been on this mat, but by the look our classmates were giving us, I knew this fight had to be quick. Which was a pity as my original plan was to torture him slowly, to deepen the humiliation from losing to me in front of the entire class.

I saw his hand strike out towards my nose and for a moment I was caught off guard. But that moment ended as soon as I grabbed his wrist. Pulling him towards me, I placed my elbow on the back of his neck and pressed down hard. Then I placed my foot besides his and pulled his leg to mine, causing him him to topple back first onto the mat. I turned the class and smiled triumphantly. That smile was quickly wiped off my face when I felt Joseph's arms wrap themselves around my neck.

"And I snapped your neck, you're dead. I win" Then I was angry. Angry at Joseph and his stupid smirk, angry at the fact that I forgot to finish him off, and angry that class who had cheered for his win.

"Never turn your back on your enemy unless they are dead, Matthias" The instructor said. My cheeks heated up as people began to laugh at me. Stupid, how could I have forgotten the first lesson I was taught.

The class exited the room and I followed behind. I could hear Joseph telling everyone how he had let me 'win' before attacking.

Liar, Liar, pants on fire.

I made my way to the labs. School was finished so all the students were in their dorms or out in the city. Me, I liked to spend my time to extracurricular activities that were only available to the children of the founders.

Cohaagen, Matthias, McKallen, Forvatore and Roland.

The founder's. The first supernatural hunters. Five families brought together by a single goal.

Destroy the beasts that terrorize us.

The ones that pretend to be human. The one's that try so hard to prove to us that they are non-lethal. They must take us for idiots. They are living weapons. As if we'd let them live.

"Professor Kaden" I nodded my head. Kaden looked up and smiled.

"My favourite student. How are you Elliana?"

"I'm good, I was wondering if any new wolves came in?"

"Just one, actually. Our weekly wolves deliverers are having some trouble. So we have to be careful with the one's we have" I followed him to one of the white rooms. They were rooms with nothing in them, they were padded with white cushion. The walls underneath the cushions were coated with silver and wolfsbane. Once they were in the white rooms, they were there forever. Until killed of course.

"There's a weapon I built, I wanted to try it today. I was waiting for you, I thought you'd like it." He pulled out a crystal blade. There were intricate patterns carved into the handle. It was beautiful. I could just imagine myself driving it into a werewolf. My hands itched to hold it.

"Here, I want you to use it. We've got a beta wolf that came in earlier this week."

He handed the blade to me. I knew it was stupid and that there was nothing magical. But I felt like it was destined to be with me. I swung it around, it was light. It was perfect.

He swiped his key and I came face to face with a furious human.

"Let me go!" He yelled, the door behind me closed.

"I have a family! Children. How can you call us the monsters when you're the one making children orphans?" I placed the point of the blade on my palm and spun slowly.

"My whole family was massacred on my birthday in front of my eyes by your kind"

"You say your peaceful, my case was one of a million. You are weapons, we're just evening the fight" I dug the blade into his belly. His cry of pain echoed through the room. He yelled and I realised he wasn't healing.

"My body! It's on fire. Stop -Stop please" He yelled. I pulled the blade out and admired it. His heavy pants evened out.

"Y-You're a....You're a monster" I knocked on the door signaling I wanted to get out. The door opened and just before I closed it, I turned to the beta.

"I've been called worse"
