Prologue
That day I walked in class a big part of my life changed and I wish there were so many things I could change about that moment, like ever loving him.
*Flashback*
I stood outside of my first period Algebra 2 class waiting on my best friend Kasey to let me in our locker because god knows I can't do it myself. She finally showed up, she had her headphones in and was clearly pissed. She went to our locker and I hopped my chicken legs over to her as she put in the combination and pulled out her book. I threw my pea coat in the locker, grabbing my own book before popping out one of her ear buds.
"Are you feeling alright?" I ask studying her face.
"Yea just tired as fuck, I hate getting up for this. Thank goodness after this semester we'll be out of here." She mumbled shutting off her iPod and stuffing it in her bag.
She shut the locker and we made our way into class before the late bell could ring. Kasey made her way to the back to grab our usual seats as I grabbed our assigned calculators. I turned to her and she had a look of shock and annoyance on her face. I raised an eyebrow and saw that she was glaring over where I sat, I turned my gaze to follow hers to find a guy sitting in my seat. Not just any guy, nope, a gorgeous one. He had dark brown hair that stopped at his neck and hung in his eyes, which were equally deep dark brown. He had several tattoos, more than any boy that I have seen at this school and a nose ring.
I gulped and made my way to him, tapping his shoulder since he had headphones in and he was softly humming, scribbling away at a notebook. I glanced down at the paper and I saw things like verse 1 and chorus, so he was writing a song? I got his attention on the third light tap and he looked up at me and quickly pulled out his ear piece.
"Yea?" He asked, his voice much softer than I had originally imagined.
"Um..." I attempted to speak, but I have a bad tendency to get tongue tied around cute guys, damn then I'm proud of myself for just getting an um out, shit he's good looking. Okay I need to chill the fuck out, breathe, and breathe. "I'm sorry to bug you, but you're in my seat."
He smirked then said, "Do you have to sit here?"
My throat tightened and I just shook my head and toke the seat in front of Kasey, since I was rendered utterly speechless. What kind of smile is that?! It's like designed to kill me with its adorableness. Suddenly a hand is placed on my shoulder making me jump and turned to see the guy towering over me, Jesus is he on stilts?
"I was just playing; here you can have your seat." He says smiling at me; okay he needs to stop that.
"O-oh its fine, really." I stutter trying to smile back.
He simply shrugs and takes a seat in front of the one he had originally sat in. I was stuck in a sort of trance as I watched him straighten out his Slipknot shirt.
"Tristy come back here and talk to me. I need you to keep me awake." Kasey whined pulling at the back of my red shirt.
I sighed rolling my eyes and got up to sit where I usually was. I was in the middle of getting out paper and a pencil when the boy turned back to me.
"Tristy..."
"It's Tristan." I corrected him, "I only let my friends call me Tristy."
"Well, Tristan my name is Austin." He tells me holding out his hand.
I toke his hand and shook it lightly before pulling back quickly. I gave him a small smile and murmured, "Nice to meet you."
"Tristan Ashby pay attention please." My teacher called making me jump then she said, "You too Mr. Carlile."
Austin gave me a smile and turned back around. I let out a sigh of relief; I didn't think I could talk to Austin much longer without somehow embarrassing myself. I drug my hand through my super dark brown hair, feeling myself calm down as I leaned back in my chair.
The rest of the class and day dragged by as normal and thankfully I didn't have any more classes with Austin. When I got home I went to my room to do English work and then crashed out for half an hour before my brother Alan woke me from being so loud downstairs.
I yanked my bedroom door open and shouted to the first floor, "Alan can you keep it down for once! I'm trying to take a nap!"
I tend to be rather cranky unfortunately. I heard him sigh loudly, but thankfully after that he was quiet. Out of nowhere my door begins to open and I hear another person yell, "Alan! Is this your room?!"
"No, it's not its mine." I say harshly, but then looked up to see Austin of all people standing in my door way.
"Tristy?"
"What did I say about calling me that?" I snap slightly.
"Sorry." He apologizes holding up his hands in defense.
I sigh rolling my eyes sitting up, "You're fine."
"So you are Alan's sister? But you're not a ginger like the rest of your family."
I chuckled, "Yea I'm just the oddball of the family I guess."
"Dark hair suits you though; it looks really pretty on you." He tells me with a grin.
I couldn't stop myself from blushing, "Thanks, now please get out I want to sleep."
He laughed, "Whatever you say Tristy."
He shut my door before I could say anything; hopefully my brother and Austin won't be friends for long. He's bound to drive me insane if he stays.
