"So where are we going again?" I ask Austin as we drove down the road in his car.
"Like I said we need to go on a real date."
I laughed softly, "I get that, but where at?"
"I can't tell you that'll ruin the surprise of it." He replied with a grin.
I roll my eyes, smiling myself as I leaned back in my seat and decided to just enjoy the ride. After a while the rhythmic movement of the car caused me to drift off to sleep. Several hours later I woke up in an area I didn't recognize and I turned to Austin to ask, "Where are we now?"
"We're almost to Disneyland!" He announced with a grin.
I laughed lightly, "That's where we're going for a date?"
"Do you not like it?" He question pouting slightly and I felt guilty for a moment, honestly his idea was completely adorable.
"No, actually I love it! It's the cutest thing ever!" I responded quickly reaching over to give him a small hug.
He grinned brightly nodding a bit. It wasn't long before I started seeing the signs for Disneyland, then something dawned on me.
"Isn't this going to be really expensive?"
He shook his head no and explained, "As many times as I've been here I get a discount."
I burst out laughing, "Yea right!"
Austin grinned and rolled his eyes, "Okay, okay I know a guy that works there and I asked him if he could help us out."
I raised an eyebrow, "How?"
"You'll see." He answered, that knowing smile still ever present on his face.
We finally parked the car and got out, but instead of going the front entrance Austin began heading for the maintenance area of the park.
"Where are we going?" I asked ducking under some tree branches as I do so.
Austin held a finger up to his lips as he knocked on a small shed. A older looking man with a moustache stepped outside and I began to feel nervous when he spotted Austin and I.
I was instantly relieved when he smiled at us and spoke, "Ah Austin was this the girl you were telling me about?"
I guess Austin didn't think I noticed when he gave the man a pleading look, basically asking him not to mention that. I tried to keep myself from grinning because of it.
"Well hurry up you two, get in here before someone notices." He gestures for us to get in the small building. I finally am able to see his name tag, which reads Barry.
Austin gives Barry a hug saying, "Thanks for this."
Barry hugged him in return, patting his back softly, "Anytime my friend. Now you go take this beautiful girl out there and have a good time. Oh and try not to get into trouble, you don't want to know what security will do if they find out you both snuck in."
We nodded and made our way into the Disneyland crowd.
"So how did you manage that?" I questioned as we walked around looking for something to do.
Austin shrugged, "He's been a friend of my family's for a long time."
"You know way to many people." I comment chuckling slightly.
Austin shrugged once more and grabs my hand, guiding me to one of the rides. Of course we had to stand in line for an hour, but I really didn't mind. It was nice to have a mindless chat with him. When we were up front Austin wrapped his arm around me as we got on the ride and I felt my stomach start to do little flips because of it. The only really embarrassing part was the fact I get easily scared on these kind of things, so the whole time I ended up shoving my head into his shoulder, clinging to him for dear life, and screaming my head off. When the ride was over Austin seemed to have a hard time not laughing at me and that caused me to feel even more mortified.
He noticed how I was acting and pulled me over to him murmuring, "I'm sorry, you're just adorable when you're scared."
"You mean hilarious." I muttered crossing my arms.
"That too." Austin replied bursting into a fit of laughter again and I frowned. He quieted down, smiling as he shook his head and leaned down to give me a quick kiss. Damn him for making me smile so easily.
"You're evil." I grumbled and he chuckled guiding me to a, hopefully, calmer attraction. I mean, seriously I thought this place was for kids? I was lost in thought when he pulled me into another long line and I saw that it was for a huge roller coaster, yea this looks a lot better, I'm going to die before this date is over.
So after the ride from hell, my hair was fantastically windblown and I was even more rattled, maybe I should have told Austin that I hate fast rides. The sun was starting to sink when we sat down to eat.
When we finished Austin suggested, "You want to go catch a ride on the Ferris wheel?"
'Thank god something that won't make me ill!' I cheer interally and nod quickly.
"I figured you'd like that better." He says and takes my hand as we get into yet another waiting line, by the time we are in front the lights come on all across the park and the sun on the Ferris wheel begins glow bright yellow. For a moment I am lost in the sights around me and I'm only brought back when Austin put his arm around me as we got on the Ferris wheel.
As we began to slowly go up in the air Austin asked, "So other than scaring you pretty good, have you been having fun?"
I smiled and nodded, "You always have a way of making things fun Austin, so yes today has been great."
A wide grin spreads over his face, "So would you be willing to do it again?"
"Anytime."
"Good." He murmured and gave me a soft kiss on my cheek, making me blush like a little girl.
So things are looking up, Austin and I might actually end up having something, and I'll be truly happy for once. Pain free.
Suddenly my phone buzzes in the back of my pocket, thankfully Austin is looking out over Disney when I saw that it was from Max.
'Tristan, I'm getting you back. Whether you want to or not.' It read and I felt myself get sick to my stomach at the thought of what he could have meant.
I quickly stuff my cell back in my pocket before Austin saw, I didn't want him worrying. Usually Max only gave empty threats, but considering the fact that he knocked me out not to long ago I wasn't so sure I was still right about that. Okay so maybe I spoke too soon, things will be better when Max gets bored with chasing me. Hopefully.
