[A/N]
I'm so, so, so sorry for not uploading this part of my story earlier. Truth is it was planned to be updated last monday the 28th of december, but then I had to work a lot and I just never seemed to find a couple of minutes to upload.
I hope all of you had a great new year's eve, mine was great. And I hope 2016 will bring you joy and give you the chance to create many beautiful memories you can cherish.

Chapter 4 - Shadows
Alert! : THIS IS NOT JUNE'S POV
Adam of the Shadowwolves.
I'm on patrol again. It's my sixth time ever since I found myself again a couple of months ago. It was tough to move on. But I did it, I pulled through. Mostly because my pack didn't give up on me. They pulled me out of the gutter and smacked some sense into me.
Nobody should have to face the devastation that comes with a rejection. It feels like the sky comes crashing down and all the colours around you disappear into nothing but black. Shadows. You try to catch them, to get a grip of life, but they slip through your fingers over and over again.
It's hard to figure out what's real and what's only taking place in your head. Hallucinations are haunting you, make you go crazy. Telling you that everything is worse than it seems, and what you're seeing is already pretty bad. It's hard to find something to live for. And yet, giving up is out of the question.
I hear my comrades howl in the distance. Indicating that there's a threat near or on the territory. I snap out of my thoughts and run to my fellow packmembers.
They're surrounding something near a tree. When I arrive, they part and allow me to come closer. Backed up against the tree, is a wolf. If I could, I'd raise my eyebrows; there, snarling and growling is an all-black she-wolf. Black as the night, black as a shadow. It wouldn't be something to raise your eyebrows at, if it weren't for the fact that only wolves with a father born in Shadowwolves, are fully black.
I sniff the air, trying to determine whether or not I've smelled her before. Her scent is very feminine, of flowers, but that's all I get. She's not one of us. Then, who is she? I look at my fellow packmembers. They're all growling and I know they want to finish her, but I know she isn't a threat. She's just scared and defensive because she doesn't know what's happening.
I growl, warning the others to stay back. 'Don't scare her, she'll be even more defensive.' I mindlink them. They step back and stop snarling.
Soon our Alpha arrives and he's looking at me with questioning eyes. Demanding an explanation. I look back at the she-wolf. The Alpha follows my gaze and I can practically see him thinking. The colour of her fur is enough indication for him. Yet, as an Alpha he can't take the risk of endangering his pack.
'She must be one of us. Yet, she doesn't smell like us. She smells like...' He doesn't finish his thoughts, as if he can't quite put his finger on it. 'It's a risk to just take her in.'
I nod my head, but still believe she just needs a little love and care. 'I'm willing to take full responsibility.' I state. She doesn't look like a threat, rather a pup that's trying to be intimidating. All bark, no bite.
'Alright, but if anything goes wrong...'
'I understand, Alpha.' The Alpha orders everyone to back off and resume patrolling. They do as they're told and soon I'm standing alone with a very scared she-wolf. When everybody is out of sight, I shift back and put on my clothes. I crouch down so I'm on the same level and don't look so intimidating to the little she-wolf in front of me.
