Chapter 25 - Our Future - Part 2

June of the Shadowwolves

On my way home to the cabin I am ambushed by both Steve and Jonathan as they jump at me from behind.

All the training I've done with Graham hasn't been done in vain. I duck under them right on time and they jump over me, falling to the ground. They groan and look at me in wonder. Clearly they had not been expecting that. I laugh at their flabbergasted faces. "You should know better than try and surprise a well-trained wolf."

"Don't you mean 'alpha-wolf?" Steve teases me. I roll my eyes and shove him a little.

"Now that, would be a little cocky to say. Wouldn't it?" I ask him and continue walking.

"So how did Adam like the cabin?" Jonathan asks me. "Did you break in the bed already?" Steve then wiggles his eyebrows.

"No. We haven't gone that far yet." I admit with flushed red cheeks.

"Well, now that you've marked each other it won't take long." Steve tells me.

"The urges will soon rise, until the point you just have to jump his bones." I feel the blood rising to my cheeks again and my whole body seems to heat up in embarrassment. Why do they have to talk about this with me? I mean I do feel like going all the way with Adam and he makes me feel things I have never felt before.

But I don't feel comfortable talking about it with two guys. Truth is, I've had this same talk with Alana and luna Aileen weeks or even months ago. Before Adam and I were even a real thing because even then, he made me feel things foreign to me.

"Don't your mates miss you?" I finally say. They laugh at my attempt to change the subject.

"Alright, alright. We'll leave you alone now." They escort me all the way back to the cabin and are now just talking about random stuff.

"Thank you again for helping move our furniture. Adam really likes the cabin." I thank them for the fifth time today when we reach my front door.

"Our pleasure. It's great to see you so lively, June," Steve says sincerely.

"Now go to that mate of yours, we'll see you around." Jonathan kisses my cheek and then they are both off to find their own mates I suppose.

I open the door and realise just how lucky I am. And all I want to do right now is go and kiss Adam. Like I have found myself doing quite a lot ever since we were reunited again.

He's waiting for me, just like he said he would. He's reading, sitting on the couch. The book he's holding I recognize as being the red notebook I used to write letters to him when he was away. My heart warms, knowing they mean so much to him. They mean a lot to me, too.

"Aren't you going to write me back?" I ask him and join him on the couch.

"You know I try," he places the notebook on the salon table.

"I know. I love it when you mindlink me unexpected with those sweet words." I take his face in my hands and press my lips gently against his.

"How was your talk?"

"It was okay. Cleared somethings up." His warm brown eyes are entrancing and make me feel at home. I'm home again. "I love you so much, you know that?" I kiss him again, a little more forceful this time. He catches on quickly and kisses me back with the same need I'm feeling.

There is a tension building up in my stomach and more than ever do I feel the need to be close to him. Adam pushes me back until my back is against the couch and he hovers over me. He keeps his bodyweight off me, but his mouth is ever so present. Against my mouth. My cheek. My chin. My neck. My collarbone.
