Uhm why do people think it's ok to pullout the "my friend doesn't mind" or "my friend said Its okay" card when talking about culture appropriation or offensive words??
E.g;
"Don't say nigga you're not black."
"My friend said its okay to say it."
"Don't joke around with Muslims being terrorists"
"My friend is Muslim and doesn't mind when I say it"
"Don't wear braids. You're not black."
"Well my black friend said I look good in them?"
"Your friend" doesn't speak for a whole race/religion???? Who gave them the right to distribute "You're allowed to say racist shit" cards??
To be quite frank (I say this from experience), your 'friend' probably respects your friendship too much to call you out on it or is too ignorant about racism to do anything.
So no "your friend" is not a get out of jail card.
