Lucas's POV:

Yesterday was actually really fun, and I got to spend a lot more time with Maya than usual. When it comes to being more than friends, I'm not sure where we both stand. But its pretty obvious I have feelings for her.

To start off the next day here, I went down to the café below our hotel rooms. I didn't notice before, but it was Scott, the scuba diving instructor. He looked as if he had just woken up too. I decided to create some conversation since the line just to get a bagel is already long enough to make me loose my patience, and he was right behind me in line anyways.

"Oh hey Scott." I said with a what seemed like a welcoming smile.

"Oh hey. Lucas right? I remember you from our sessions scuba diving."

"Heh yea."

"So anyways, hows life been treating ya out in this paradise?" Scott said. Scott was really easy to talk to especially since he didn't make conversations awkward like I usually do.

"Pretty good. How bout you?"

"Same as always. Anyways, have you seen Maya lately?"

"Oh uh. No why?" I didn't say yes obviously. Why would he want to know where she is anyways?...

"Oh okay. And I just wanted to hang out with her a bit. Get to know her. She seems like a very kind girl."

"Yea I know..."

"Wait... You and Maya aren't a thing right?" He probably saw the confusion and annoyance in my face. and mentioned just for sure.

"Oh uh. No. I don't think so."

"Are you sure? You seem a bit uneasy. It's alright if your uncomfortable. I get it..."

"Oh uh no it's okay. Were not a thing." I didn't know what else to say because well me and Maya weren't dating, so we weren't as much a "thing." Also I didn't know the guy that well. I didn't want to come off in any weird way whatsoever. So I tried to "keep it cool."

"Oh okay. Thanks." Scott said.

I feel a bit uneasy about the conversation Scott and I had. Does he like Maya? He obviously doesn't know about the on and off relationship with Maya and I, but I didn't want to get deep into thought with the conversation since I literally just met him.

*2 hours later*

I came back to the hotel a while after, and watched some pranking show with Farkle as we ate our breakfast. We heard a knock on the door, seeing it was Maya's mom.

"Get ready in 1 hour! Time for our next day in Hawaii."

We got ready as soon as possible to have more screen time, since this pranking show was actually really interesting for hotel TV.

I did the usual hair that may seem like it takes 30 minutes but actually doesn't. I wore a plain dark blue t-shirt and some shorts and made sure I had everything. As Farkle was getting ready, my phone was blowing up with notifications from Instagram.

I posted a video of Maya and I on one of the slides, and I got the most comments I've ever gotten. Most comments were like:

"OMG I SHIP IT!"

"OTP OTP OTP"

"Where's Riley?"

"SHIP"

"SO CAYUTE"

"Follow me on insta and you'll get free money."

"OTP"

"SHIP"

(the usual)

I was used to this, but it got to me more because.. Well because I'm starting to have feelings for Maya. Not that I never did... It just seems more serious. Hawaii was probably the best place to come. Because I'm starting to find out more about how I feel.

Riley's POV:

Yes! Another day. But I'm going to try to keep a small distance between Farkle and I. He seemed so opinionated lately about Maya. I don't want him talking about her like that. Maybe the best way to do that is keep a little space between us, but it's not like I won't stop talking to him. To be honest, I feel as if Farkles's not caring much about how Maya feels. I appreciate his concern for me, but where's Maya and Lucas's?

I don't want to be all gloomy even though I barely am, but I needed to do the most I could for the few weeks we had left here.

As we were getting ready, I noticed Maya was on her phone 24/7. Well she always is, it's just that something seemed off. The moment she went out to see her mom in her hotel room, she just went on screen mode. It was really obvious she was hiding something because she brought her phone everywhere. Like within the room though.

She carried her phone to the dresser which was like 2 inches away from her.

She stood in the center of the room with her phone staring at the TV, and she never put her phone down.

I mean Maya loved her phone, but she wasn't all up on her phone like this.

I'm always curious and that shouldn't surprise anyone, but I tried to mind my own business. But she's my bestfriend. But I didn't do anything to jeopardize what I had promised.

Or maybe I'm just letting my curiosity get the best of me.
