Chapter 15

Maya's POV:

4:30 P.M

Riles and I, left the pool for a couple minutes to get something to eat. We were waiting in line, as I noticed Scott from the corner of my eye. You know, Scott. Lifeguard, helped when we went scuba diving. He was heading towards us, and to be honest, I fixed my hair before he approached us.

"Hey guys." Scott said tapping Riley and I on the shoulder.

"Oh hi Scott. How ya doing?" Riles asked with that hopeful smile of hers.

"Oh not much. Anyways, Maya, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out, or go watch the concert tonight with me?" Scott said. I glared at Riley hoping she'd be fine if I hung out with him, considering Riles and I had plans for today. But, thankfully, Riley gave me an assuring yes by nodding her head and winking at me.

"I'd love to." I replied, looking back at Scott.

"Great. How about the shack? Right next to the beach? 5:30?"

"I'll be there." I said, as he smiled and walked away.

I turned back to look at Riley. And of course, she watched the whole thing. What a way for Riley to make things awkward. She smirked at me for about a minute before she said anything.

"So... You and Scott." Riley said winking for about the 3rd time.

"Riles, it's just a hangout. It's not like he said its a date or anything."

"Admit it Maya. You like Scott."

"I don't know..." That was all I could say because I definitely couldn't mention Lucas since... Well Riley still has feelings for him. But maybe I do have feelings for Scott. I mean what I said to Riley was the truth. I'm not sure of I do like Scott. Maybe I'll find out later today.

Lucas's POV:

Obviously, I wasn't planning on not being with Riley and Maya today, but I guess maybe Farkle and I haven't had what the girls called, "guy time." Farkle and I were planning on going to the beach. 1, because it seemed relaxing and chill, and 2, Farkle and I weren't the type to plan things out when we were with the girls. This was the best thing we could think of. Also we've passed by that beach many times, and it has a restaurant or what Farkle calls a shack. Meaning we won't have to go somewhere else to eat. The less work, the better for me.

5:20 P.M

Farkle and I finally got to the beach. There were lots of other people. Some playing Volleyball, some reading books, and others doing other things. Farkle and I set the towel down on the beach, and put our things down. We immediately ran to the water, possibly pushing water on everyone in our way. We brought a volleyball, and played in the water. Not to be mean, but Farkle wasn't so good at Volleyball. In that matter, he was terrible at any sport.

Thinking of that reminded me of Zay. Wonder what he's doing right now. I wish he could've came along but Maya didn't have one extra ticket, and she's not close to Zay like I am.

We eventually got tired and walked back to our spot to relax. Our spot was somewhat in the middle right in the front of the water. We liked being close to the water for some reason.

From a distance I saw blonde hair and the exact swimsuit I remembered seeing yesterday. It was Maya.

I told Farkle once I noticed, and I urged him to come say hi to her and Riley with me. When I tugged on his arm he immediately said, "You might wanna re think that. Because... From what I can see, Riley isn't there."

I took a closer look and looked back at Farkle. He gave me a shrug obviously knowing what I was going to ask.

"Why.... Is Scott there?"
