Short Author's Note-

New chapter! Hope you guys have been enjoying the series.

Lucas's POV:

We left the hotels and met with Riley, Maya, and Maya's mother. Because we felt bad for Ms. Hart not getting some choice in what we do, we suggested for her to go to the spa while us four hung out in the waterpark or teen section. She agreed as I thought seeing the bags under her eyes showing how tiring this trip must be for her.

So, we drove to a waterpark/theme park like Wisconsin Dells, but there were some things that made it even better. As we walked into the main area, we noticed kids of all ages running back and forth and different areas that made me curious of everything we could do here. To no surprise, Ms. Hart walks to the spa without letting us know leaving us four to choose what we want to do.

As we walked more, we saw the arcade, waterpark, rock climbing, laser tag, and a lot more. I was looking forward to laser tag but it was all a group decision.

"So what do you guys think?" I said first to get a conversation started.

"It's really nice." Riley replied, Farkle nodding his head along.

"Maya, how 'bout you?" I asked, seeing that she had no interest in our conversation staring at her phone.

"Oh um sure," she replied with her head still down at her phone.

"But we didn't even choose a place-"

"Don't question it, she's been acting like that all morning," Riley said interrupting Farkle as they walked towards the arcade leaving Maya and I alone.

"Well, I guess they're going to the arcade. So Maya, what do you want to do?"

"Laser Tag?" She suggested lifting her head up finally.

"Okay well let's go," I replied.

*10 minutes later*

We finally had gotten to the laser tag area after walking up many flights of stairs.

All I saw were glowing lights leading to a dark cave catching both Maya and my attention. She at last put her phone in her back pocket and we walked in.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We put on the vests and grabbed our guns. We ran in going opposite ways. This was harder than I thought since it was in the dark and all we had were the glowing floors and shields as our light source. I was obviously aiming for Maya, confused trying to find her.

Suddenly I heard my vest ring looking to my far left seeing Maya's blonde hair hiding behind a rock. I slowly walked over but before I could she aimed and hit me again running away.

The game was going to end in ten seconds and I needed get Maya back. But before I could get my balance back, I suddenly felt someone fall on me. I assumed it was Maya as a joke but my first observation was bright red hair.

I got up dusting my clothes from falling, in shock of who I saw.

It was Amber. My ex girlfriend.

"C'mon Lucas, the game just ended," Maya replied from behind grabbing my arm.

''Oh Lucas? Haven't seen you in a while. Who's she Lucas?" Amber said giving me a hard to explain look. Out of all things that was the first thing she had to say.

Maya looked at me in confusion waiting for an answer.

"Amber this is Maya, my friend." I tried to avoid the awkwardness of this conversation but it didn't work.

"Oh. Well it was nice seeing you Lucas and nice to meet you Maya. I have to leave right now, but I hope to see you later." Amber said putting a piece of paper in my hand.

We walked out, agreeing on meeting Farkle and Riley at the arcade. As we walked toward the arcade, Maya asked, "Who's Amber?"

"Just a friend..."

"Oh okay..." Maya replied in disbelief.

I know what I did was wrong to lie to Maya but I didn't want her to think I like Amber or something if she knew that she was my ex. I've known a couple of on and off relationships and I don't want Maya to think the same will happen to Amber and I. I've been trying to get closer to Maya. And telling her that she just met my ex doesn't seem like it would help. Anyways... Amber and I are just friends now.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It didn't take long for Maya to take out her phone walking to the arcade. I've never seen her glued to her phone like this. But as long as it doesn't involve anything to hurt Maya in any way, then things should be just fine. The only thing I have to worry about is Amber now.

We reached the arcade, and Maya walked towards Riley meaning I walked to Farkle.

"So how was laser tag?" Farkle asked.

"Fun... But I ran into someone..."

"Who? Was it George Clooney, I swear-"

"No... It was Amber." I interrupted laughing.

"AMBER?" Farkle said. He knew about Amber when we were playing Truth or Dare and Zay asked who was my most recent ex when I picked Truth. I had to explain what I liked about her and why we broke up. It was a pain and pretty embarrassing.

"Could you be any louder?" I whispered glancing at Riley and Maya who weren't so far from us.

"Oh sorry. So what did Maya say?"

"Well that's the problem... I didn't tell Maya she was my ex. Just a old friend."

"A friend? You know she's going to find out eventually..."

"Well I have a reason for what I did."

"Okay... But I'm just saying. You're starting something here. And I'm not saying this positively." Farkle said ending the conversation.

We acted as if the conversation never happened and we played around with some of the games in the arcade. We had girl vs. boy battles in those dance games, shooting games, and racing games. And it was pretty fun to get the time to pass by. Before we knew it, it was getting late and we had to be back at the hotels before Ms. Hart noticed.

*20 minutes later*

We got settled in our hotel rooms and Riley came to our room just to let us know Ms. Hart was with Aunt Caroline in their hotel room and they were fine with us staying out in the arcade.

Riley's POV:

Maya never let her phone go in the hotel room and she didn't even talk to me the same. As I heard from Lucas, they had a good time. So what was wrong now?

I didn't want to bother her so I went to bed around midnight. It was normal to go to sleep later but I was just concerned that I didn't know what else to do but sleep.

2:30 A.M

I heard Maya sniffling and a quiet cries from her bed but I couldn't tell what was happening since all the lights were out. I turned the lights on immediately knowing something was wrong. Maya laid still and stopped sniffling but it wasn't going to fool me.

I pushed her face towards me delicately and saw tears streaming down her cheeks, with her phone lit up in her hand.
