(Sorry I've been gone since May.. just busy I guess )

I had a killer headache and only 5 minutes left until closing time. I counted the money in the register to ensure it was all there and placed it back in with a slight 'ching'. This had been practically my every night for the past 6 months. Rebecca came out of the back room and asked if I wouldn't mind locking up since she had to leave early. I knew I would be here anyway so it wouldn't matter. I untied my apron and hung it on the hook. 2 more minutes. That's when I heard the ringing of the door bells. I pinched my eyes shut at the idea of someone coming in RIGHT before we close. I couldn't wait for the night to end.

"We're closed." I said loud enough for anyone who was in the building to hear it.

"I know." I heard a voice right behind me say. I jumped around, fists raised preparing for whoever was behind me.. it was Robbie.

"Gosh Robbie." I said smacking him with a rag I had grabbed to wipe down tables with. He only laughed. Robbie had a few classes with me on campus and he made it a habit to stop into the coffee shop at least once a week and visit me before it closed. It wasn't that was much of a pest, but in some ways he was. He wasn't very good at hiding his feelings for me and although I had them for him also, I didn't want to let him know that. I liked to keep him guessing.

"Would you like some help cleaning up the tables?" Robbie offered giving me the cheesiest smile ever. I rolled my eyes but tossed him a towel.

"I'll wash, you dry." I told him. He gave me an annoyed face but proceeded to follow me into the dining area. I locked the front doors so no one would try to come in and I switched the open sign to close. I wiped off the small tables in the room and Robbie dried them off. Since I had the headache, I decided not to talk.

"Wow. This is so fun. Glad I visited." Robbie mocked as we finished up with the last of the tables. I rolled my eyes and took his towel.

"Thanks Robbie." I laughed taking his towel. I dropped them in the sink to be cleaned tomorrow and punched out. Robbie stood there awkwardly as I got my bag together and began to leave. "What are you looking at?" I asked cocking my eyebrow. Robbie jumped and began scratching the back of his neck.

"Uh- er nothing. Nothing at all." He said standing on his tip toes and then dropping down flat-footed. I hummed a little and then motioned for him to follow me out the back door. I grabbed the keys and locked up shop. Robbie and I walked silently out to the car.

"So uhh. I bet you're wondering why I come here a few times a week.." Robbie said. I wanted to say no but I decided not to be a sarcastic bitch for once in my life.

"Humor me." I said with a sly grin on my face.

"Well I've really been needing a date to this Uh- wedding. And I don't have Uh anyone to uh-" He rambled.

"I'll go." I said smiling. Robbie's flustered face visibly relaxed. He grinned from ear to ear.

"Really?" He said. "I mean you don't have to.."

"I'd love to. See you tomorrow?" I said opening my car door.

"Tomorrow." He said nodding and then skipping off into the direction of his dorm. What a dork..
