Chapter 24

"NO ! NO WAY IN HELL AM I GONE BE SHARING AN APARTMENT WITH AMBER." Lucas says yelling at me

"Fine then I guess I'm going to USC. Toodles I have some shopping to do." I  say skipping out the room.

 Once I start skipping down the room I hear Lucas call my name.

"I already know that I'm going to regret this but fine, and that's only because I want to look out for you. But you have to tell her to keep her distance from me."

"Okay " I say grinning from ear to ear.

I skipped down stairs grinning and went and got my car keys, I needed to do some victory shopping. I'll tell Nathan and Amber the good news tomorrow at school.

I woke up and got some breakfast and headed to school. I walked down the hallway towards my locker to see Nathan, Dylan, and Corey. I start walking really fast towards them.

"Baby I missed you." I said walking really fast towards them.

I walked right past Nathan and jumped on Dylan and Corey. We all started laughing and hugging each other.

"Yeah it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt." Nathan said closing his locker door

"Are you jealous ? I mean I would too if I was away for a while and I know my girl was thinking about someone else." Dylan said teasing Nathan

"Yeah, yeah. Just get your fingers off my girlfriend before I break them." Nathan said coming and standing beside me

"Babe guess what ? You, me, Lucas and Amber are all going to share an apartment ! Aint that great ?" I said to Nathan happy

"Great ? Have you told Amber this ? " He said looking at me worried

"No, but she'll will go through with it. trust me. "

"If you say so."

I think Amber would be okay with it, I mean why wouldn't she ? She would be living with the guy that she's in love with and then once they live together they can see how much they love each other and get back together and then BOOM problem solved, and the world would be restored. I'm a evil genius I say to myself walking down the hallway smirking.

"What are you smirking about ?" Amber asks coming up beside me

"Just thinking about how much of a genius I am." I say

"What did you do genius ?"

"You, Nathan, Lucas and I are all going to share an apartment in college. Isn't that great ?" I say happy to share the great news.

I look at Amber waiting for her to smile and I just see her froze looking like she seen a ghost.

"You didn't ! Tell me you didn't do that. Why did you do that ? Why couldn't you just leave life alone the way it was." Amber said basically yelling at me

"I just wanted to help. I wanted to fix y'all relationship." I say defending myself.

"You can't fix a relationship that you're not in. This is your way of fixing it ? Putting me in a weird and awkward situation. You should've asked me before you did that instead of assuming that I would be okay with it. I can't believe you. That was so selfish of you."

And once Amber said that she stormed off. I just wanted to help and make everything right. I wanted to go to college and live with the people that meant the most to me. Was that wrong ? Did that make me selfish ?

I head to chemistry class and sit at the back of the room which is very unlikely for me since I'm an A student and I always sit in the front.

After Chemistry it's time for lunch and im just not up for it so I head home. I'm not one to skip school but I just wasn't up for sitting at lunch with everyone acting like everything is okay when it isn't.  I walk out the back doors to the parking lot to get in my car when I hear someone call my name. I turn around to see that it's Connor. He looks at me and can tell something is wrong but he doesn't question me.

"let's go somewhere and talk. Get in your car and follow me."

I do as he say and ended up following him to a coffee shop. We get inside and sit in a booth in the corner and give our order to the waitress.

"So are you going to tell me what's wrong or am I going to have to guess." Connor said while sipping his Frappuccino.

"Do you think I'm selfish ?"

"Yes but that's what makes you, you. You're selfish for a good reason. You want to make yourself happy all the time but the only way for that to happen is for everyone else around you to be happy. What happened ?"

"Well Lucas and Amber broke up, and I thought it would be a good idea for Lucas, Amber, Nathan and I just get an apartment for college. But I guess I was wrong."

"You was just doing what you thought you was right. don't beat yourself up for that." Connor says trying to make me feel better.

"Thanks, you're a great listener. I know that I can always talk to you."

"You're welcome and thanks. You better put these last to moths to good use." Connor said but mumbling the last part so that I can barely hear him.

"What are you talking about last two months ?"

"Well you know how graduation is in two months. Well I leave for basic training right after graduation."

"Oh my gosh. How does your parents feel about this ? How does your girlfriend feel about this ?"

"Well my dad is disappointed in me for turning down the scholarship.. My mother cried when I told her, she hugs me every day like im not going to come back from basic training and my girlfriend cried because she doesn't want to be away from me and she's scared for my life. But I just want to fight for my country, is that wrong ?"

"No it's not wrong. You care a lot and that's what makes you who you are. Unlike me who is selfish. But I'm very proud of you because I know how much you wanted this for a very long time."

"Thank you. We should probably get going. "Connor says getting up to pay the bill

"Yeah let me go get ready to hear Nathan fussing at me for hanging out with you. I rather tell him before someone else does. We don't keep secrets from each other. But it was nice talking to you. We should do it again sometime before you leave." I said hugging Connor

"Yeah we should." Connor said as he was waving goodbye
