*Lauren POV*
This is it. This is really it. I think to myself as I wake up and realize that it's graduation day. The day that every kid dreams of since they start school.
I got up out the bed with a huge smile on my face and decided to go and wake my brother up seeing as how I know he is still sleep. I walked in Lucas room and started laughing when I seen him laying half way off the bed with his mouth wide open and snoring. I jumped on top of him and started shaking him for him to wake up, and then he jumped up and head butted me.
"OW !" I say in a duh tone
"It ain't my fault you have a big forehead."
"It ain't my fault that you're a heavy sleeper, now get up. The best day of our life is upon us. "
Once I said that Lucas rolled over to grab his phone and looked at the time and once he realized that it was 6 am he pushed me off his bed and threw the covers over his head. I just started laughing and decided to wake up Austin.
"Wake up little brother" I say in a cheery mood
"You do realize that I am not the one graduating today right ?"
"Yeah."
"Then I don't have to get up until it's time to go to the graduation, now get out."
Well geez so much for anyone being a morning person around here. I decided to go see my dad I knew he was gone be up in his office.
"Hey princess, what's up ?"
"You know your sons are not morning people."
"You're just now figuring that out ?" My dad said laughing
"Are you excited for today ?" My dad asked looking up from his work
"You have no idea how excited I am. I've waited for this day forever." I say so happy
"I'm so proud of all you kids. Y'all did great in high school and now y'all are going to do great in college. Don't let nothing or nobody ruin your day, I know you worked really hard on your speech."
"Who could ruin my day ?"
"Well your mom is coming."
"Why ? I don't want her there."
"Regardless of everything that happened she is still your mother and she did help raise you. "
"So.." I say trying my best to avoid eye contact.
"So.. regardless of how wrong she is you are going to have to make up with her eventually or you will live to regret it."
"I will eventually.. but it wont be no time soon." I say being stubborn
"Oh I need a favor daddy." I say giving him the puppy eyes
"What is it ?"
"Can I throw a graduation party here tonight please"
"Sure... just make sure my house doesn't get trashed."
I walked out of my dad office and went to go get ready for one of the biggest days of my life.
~
This was it. They was about to call my name for me to give my speech. I don't know why I am so nervous, I have literally been waiting on this day forever and I am nervous.
"Now we will have our valedictorian Lauren Foster giver her speech."
I got up and walked on stage trying my best not to fall. Once I got on stage I just started talking and the words just started flowing out of my mouth like it was second nature.
