Chapter 32

Lucas put Amber and the bed and kept telling me that she's going to be alright in the morning. I guess he kept telling me that because I kept crying. I'm not usually one to cry but when something like this happen to your bestfriend you cant control the tears that stream down your face. I decided to go to bed for now.

I'm half sleep and I keep hearing voices. I roll over to see that Nathan is still asleep and I look over at the clock to see that it is a little bit after 7 am.  I get up out of the bed and head to the bathroom to see what is going on.

I walk into the bath room to see Amber hunched over the toilet throwing her lungs up and Lucas holding her hair up so that it does not get in her hair. He looked at me reassuring me that he got it. So I went back into my room where my bed was and continued studying until it was time for to get ready to go see the apartment.

"How she's doing " I ask my brother when I see him walk about the bathroom

"She'll be alright. She doesn't remember what happened last night and said that she doesn't want to know."

"Why doesn't she want to know ?" I ask curious

"I don't know because I didn't ask, I just respected her wishes."

"You know you can try to fool everyone at school and even try to fool Amber but you cant fool me. I know you still have feelings for her." I say putting my book down

"Like I told you before I will always have feelings for her I just don't want to be with her. I was just being a good guy and doing the right thing. Now mind your business and continue studying." Lucas said walking out the room

"Babe.."

I cut Nathan off from what he was about to say.

"Look I know what your about to say. That I'm supposed to be trying to stay out of they relationship, but Lucas said they not in a relationship anymore so what am I staying out of ?"

"Babe stop trying to find a lou pole. If your brother wants to hide his feelings, or get back together with her or don't get back with Amber that's their business not yours or ours." Nathan said looking me in the eye

"Look I just love both of them and want them to be happy."

"I get that but they both told you specifically to stay out of it." 

"Fine." I say poking my bottom lip out.

We all got dressed and ready to go look at our Apartment. We pulled up to the location  that the realtor sent and she was already outside waiting on us.  We walked up to her and introduced our selves and she went ahead to take us up the elevator to the 3rd floor which our apartment is on.

This building had a gym and a pool. The apartment is a 4 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms and a lovely view of the city. After all of us looked around we all agreed that we loved the apartment and told her that we wanted it. After dealing with all the legal stuff we were on our way back to our hotel room. I sent my father a quick text message to tell him that we loved everything about the apartment and that we had got it.

I started to think about my dad, I've been worried about him a lot lately. I get that everyone may think i'm nosey and always butting in someone business but I can't help it. You tend to do that when you really care about someone. My family has been through a lot this past year and I just want to make sure that they're alright. Am I the bad guy for wanting that ? I guess so.

Before going back to the hotel room we decided to ride around the city and see what was all here and near our new apartment. While also looking at the city I was still studying. I just wanted to make sure I get every bit of information that I need because I need to be valedictorian.

Amber had tapped me to get my attention to show me Casey snapchat story of her partying and getting very drunk, I guess she figures that she got Valedictorian in her back pocket. I still can't get over how her GPA is all of a sudden higher than mines when she's never gotten better grades than me in her life. Somethings not right about that.

The next morning we got up to catch our flight back home. After our flight everyone was jet lagged and decided to go home and get some rest because we did have school tomorrow morning.

Once I got to school I went to the principal office because I had a question for him.

"Ms. Lauren to what do I owe this pleasure ?"

"Look sir sorry for just barging in like this but somethings really been on my mind lately."

"Well what can I do for you ?"

"I would like for you to explain what courses exactly did Casey get higher than me in. Because I've know the girl her whole life and she's never done better than me in any of her classes. I've always tutored her, you even assigned me to tutuor her once."

"We are not allowed to give out students exact grades only GPA but now that you bring it to my attention I do remember her always being a little bit below average. But I tell you what I have a meeting to get to but I will look into it."

"Thank you sir."

After I left the principals office I went off to the rest of my class. While sitting in English class the intercom came on calling me to the principals office.

I walk in the principal off to see Casey already in there sitting down.

"Yes sir ?" I say more of like a question

"It has come to my attention that our school system was hacked." The principal says giving me and Casey a stern look

"Ok ?" I say again also as a question

"And it appears that some grades where changed ."

Once he said that my eyes popped out of my head because I knew exactly where this was going

"And it seems that Ms. Casey grades where changed and along with some of her friends grades also. "

"Oh this is just great." I mumbled to myself

"So Lauren you are in fact our Valedictorian. As for you Casey you will be lucky if you graduate, but I just got one question for you. Who was your accomplice because there is no way you hacked into our system by yourself because well you don't have the brains for that."

I snickered at the principals last statement, but well he wasn't lying.

"I have no idea what you're talking about sir and I am appalled that you would accuse me of such thing. " Casey says trying to play dumb

"Well I tell you what why don't you think about who helped you over your 10 day suspension."

"What you can't suspend me ! Me and my mother will go to the board." Casey said yelling at this point

"You do that, now leave the school grounds imeediately. As for you Lauren Congratulations on being Valedictorian and I hope you have been working on your speech. Now head back to class." Principal says nodding towards the door

"Thank you sir and I've been working on it since the day I was born. "
