Chapter 8

|Ella's POV

Hunter's strong arms wrapped around me once I finished telling him everything. I sat in his arms and teared up even more, allowing a few tears to slip down my cheeks. "I'm so sorry that that happened to you, Ella."

"It's fine, Hunter." I pulled away and whipped my eyes. "I honestly feel like you're the only one that truly cares anymore, and we just met."

"I'd do anything for you, Ella." He replied and smiled slightly, causing me to blush. "And you have your family, they care about you."

"Doesn't seem like it, they're always talking about Collin's stupid scholarship. The only family member that actually cares is my dad. And I can't even see him."

"Why not, if you don't mind me asking?"

"My dad is in the military, and has been overseas for the last 5 months." I sighed and leaned against my headboard. I then felt Hunter's hand ontop of mine and our fingers laced together.

"Ella, will you promise me something?" Hunter's low voice filled the room after about 5 minutes of silence. I looked up at him and nodded slightly. "Will you promise to not yourself anymore?"

I pulled my hand away from his slowly. I closed my eyes and tried to stop the tears that were begged to come out. God, why did I cry so much?

"Why do you care so much?" I whispered in between tears. I felt his hands cup my cheeks and lift my face.

"Because I can't let you do this do yourself, I'm here to make you better than what you think. That is if you let me." He whispered and leaned his faced closer to mine. "Will you let me? Do you promise to not hurt yourself?"

I thought about it. I just met him. But he's different than the others. Maybe he'll be able to do the impossible; make me get to a point in life where I actually believed in myself.

And with that, I nodded.

"Yes."

Short chapter again, I'm sorryyyy.

But while I was writing this, I instantly came up with an idea for a chapter that shows the relationship between Ella and her brother, and to be honest I can't wait for when I get to write it!
