After two hours in the shower, I finally finished. I shut off the water and reached out, grabbing a towel and bringing it in and wrapping it around my body. I pulled the shower curtain back and stepped out onto the small rug that sat in front of the bathtub. I could practically feel Alice waiting outside the door.
With a slight sigh, I dried off and slipped into the outfit that was laying on the sink. It was a black skirt with a long sleeved polka dotted shirt. A pair of black combat boots next to the toilet. I slipped on a fresh pair of socks before sliding into the boots. They felt really comfortable and fit real nice.
I took a deep breath as I ran the small brush that Alice had given me to use through my hair. It felt pretty nice to be able to brush my hair after so long. Back at the hospital, it was in a ponytail most of the time. That way if I were to ever get attacked again or in a fight, it would be out of my face.
Another knock came to the door. "Mai?" Alice said.
Letting out the breath I was holding, I set the brush down and turned to the door. I unlocked it and pulled it open, seeing Alice along with Detective Froman standing there.
"Wow, you look beautiful Mai." Alice complimented as I stepped out into the hall.
Folding my arms across my chest, I said, "Thanks. What now?"
Detective Froman stepped to the side, "Follow me. We have a room all set up." He said as he began walking away. I glanced over at Alice. "Should I trust him?" I jokingly asked.
She sighed, pushing my shoulder, "Just follow him." She said.
I stumbled some but reliantly followed. "Okay. Jeez. No need to get so pushy." I mumbled, glancing back at her over my shoulder.
"Don't be such a smartass." She said.
I gasped, "Did you just cuss? Oh my goodness, this is amazing." I sarcastically gushed.
She only glared, making me laugh a little. "That was a first Alice. I'm shocked. But, watch your language." I said, mocking her from when we pulled up earlier.
After a short walk, Alice and I entered a small room. It was similar to the room I was first brought in many months ago, but it was slightly smaller. And it felt a lot more cramped.
I stood by the door, looking around the room. There was a table placed in the middle of the room with three chair. One by itself and the other two next to each other. The one sitting by itself was for me, I just know it.
"Alright, Mai why don't you take a seat." Alice said as she took a seat in one the chairs on the opposite side of the table. Detective Froman was already sitting, a notebook and pen in front of him.
"I would be forced to sit alone." I spat, walking over and sitting down.
"You're not forced. That's just how the table was set. If you'd like, Alice can sit next to you." Detective Froman spoke.
I shook my head, "No. Let's get this done and over with. I hate this place." I grumbled. My arms were folded across my chest and I was leaning back.
"Alright. Well Mai," He said as he looked me in the eyes.
"Why don't you tell me what happened the night Mark was murdered."
