A hand moving back and forth in front of my face brought me back to reality. I flinched, shifting in my seat. "It's okay Mai." I heard a familiar voice say. Blinking a few times, I saw Detective Froman and Alice looking at me. I stood up from my chair and walked over to the window that gave a nice view of outside. "Something wrong Mai?" Alice asked. I ignored her as I covered my face with my hands. "Mai." She said again. Again, I ignored her.
"Mai, that what really happened?" Detective Froman spoke up.
I turned away from the window and looked at him.
"Yep." Was all I said, turning and looking back out the window.
Loud shouts and bangs were heard outside the door, causing Detective Froman to rise from his chair quickly and pull out his gun. I jumped, backing up into the wall furthest from the door.
"What was that?" Alice asked as she stood next to Detective Froman.
"Where is she? Where is that little bitch!?" A voice yelled. There was a loud bang on the door.
I flinched as a small 'yelp!' escaped my lips.
"Where is she? Is she in here? Huh? Mai! Mai you in there!?" The person yelled again, pounding on the door some more.
"Somebody get him into custody!" Detective Froman shouted.
"Who is that? And how does he know my name?" I asked.
Alice turned, looking at me. "Just ignore it Mai." She said, walking over and going to give me a hug.
I stepped away, looking at her before looking over her shoulder at the door.
"Mai! I swear to God if you told them anything, I will kill you! Do you hear me? I will kill you!" The person shouted. And right then and there, I knew who it was. My hands clenched together, turning white at my knuckles. It was Adam.
I took a deep breath and blew it out before slowly walking towards the door.
"Mai. Mai, what are you doing?" Alice spoke as I walked right passed her and Detective Froman.
"Mai, get back." He sternly said.
I stopped where I was and looked at him, "Is that Adam?"
"Mai! Mai!" I heard him yell.
I looked over at the door before looking back at the Detective, "Answer me. Is that Adam?" I demanded.
He put his gun back in the holster, answering, "Yes. It's Adam."
I sighed, nodding. "Let me see him." I simply said.
"What? No. Are you crazy?" Alice said from behind me. I glanced over my shoulder, looking at her. "Last time I checked, yes." Was all I said before looking back at Detective Froman.
She didn't say anything, only stood back. "Let me see the bastard." I said, my voice low.
Detective Froman stood straight, his hands resting at his sides.
It was quiet. Both inside, and outside the room. Detective Froman nodded and stepped up to the door only to have Alice stop him, "Whoa Alex, are you crazy?" He stopped, looking over his shoulder.
"If it's what she wants, then it's what she wants." Was all he said before turning back towards the door. "But what if he tries to hurt her?"
I quickly answered, "He won't. I won't let him." I growled.
Detective Froman sighed before slowly opening the door.
I stepped out into the hall, looking around.
