"There is an APV out on the notorious Muffin Man couple Harry and Emma Styles, pictured here. They are the owners of the Muffin Man Bakery located in Sunnyville. They have allegedly grew and sold marijuana straight from their business. They have worked with convicted pot dealers Niall and Ariana Horan. The couple have escaped custody and is currently on the run."
Liam made sure that the roads leading out of Sunnyville were blocked by the police. He and Zayn were at the airport waiting and watching everyone with eagle eyes.
"Boss," Zayn said. "Are you sure they're leaving today?"
"I know they will," Liam nodded. "Think about it. They can't leave by car cause they know our boys with get them. This is the only way out for them."
"Will they be in disguise?"
"Of course they will," Liam responded. "That's why we have to keep a sharp eye out. I'll catch them, don't worry. I'm never wrong."
"Okay," Zayn shrugged. "Whatever you say, boss."
The detectives stood next to security and watched as the people went through for inspection. So far no suspicious characters passed through.
A pregnant woman waddled through dragging a young overactive boy with her. Zayn noticed how huge her belly was, along with her hair.
"Hello, excuse me," the lady said in a deep Irish voice. "I'm in a terrible rush."
"We're checking everybody, ma'am." Liam told her. Boy was her makeup a mess, he thought.
The boy was jumping around. "Stop that, dammit!" the lady yelled. "Theo, I swear to God if you make Mommy go into labor, it's gonna be your ass."
"You're not my mommy!" the boy hollered. "You're my uncle Ni--"
The lady clapped a hand over the child's mouth. "Ha ha ha, silly kid." She popped him upside the head. "If you'll just let us on the plane. . ."
"We have to search you. . .ma'am." Zayn said.
Suddenly the lady grabbed her huge stomach. "Ow! Ow! Oh I think I'm having a contraction! Oh, oh!" She opened one eye to peek at the detectives, them resumed moaning. "Oh my poor tum tum!"
"Do you need an ambulance. . .ma'am?" Zayn asked while helping to hold her up.
"Oh no no no," she said. "I just need to sit down and relax, it's good for the baby, heh heh heh."
Zayn looked at Liam. "What should we do with her?"
Liam relented. "Okay, let her though."
"Oh thank you, good sir." The woman crowed. She adjusted her big ugly wig and grabbed the boy by the hand. "Come on, Theo, let's go before Mama drops your little brother right here in front of these good people."
Liam and Zayn watched as she waddled down to the gate.
"I swear," Liam said. "That is one ugly ass woman. How she got knocked up twice will forever remain a mystery."
"Amen, boss." Zayn agreed.
They continued keeping a close watch. So far nothing unusual.
Then a little old man came up. He caught their attention.
"Boss," Zayn hissed in Liam's ear. "There's something fishy about that guy."
"There's something familiar about him." Liam studied the elderly man. Under his worn brown hat he seemed to have a lot of gray hair. His clothes were old and baggy. "Hold up, sir." He called.
The old man stopped. "What seems to be the problem, sonny?" He asked. Liam studied him closely. What was it about this guy? His voice did seem high. His face looked smooth. He couldn't put his finger on it.
"H'm, sorry," Liam said. "We're just checking everyone."
"You can go." Zayn said. The old man tipped his hat before hobbling along. "He's old anyway, he's harmless." he said to Liam.
Liam nodded. "Yeah, I guess so."
Then a nun came through. She would have passed though but she had on large sunglasses and a One Direction bookbag.
"Hold it right there!" Liam demanded, stopping her.
"But she's a nun." Zayn protested.
"Yeah, I'm a nun," she said. "Why stop me?"
Liam circled her. "You look suspicious. What's your name?"
The nun looked nervous. "My name?"
"Yeah, sister, your name." Liam snapped his fingers. "You do know it, don't you?"
The nun looked like she was thinking. "Uh, uh, my name. It's. . .uhhh, Sister Ari. . .uhh, Sister Mary Anna. Sister Mary Anna, yes that's me."
Liam still looked suspicious. "Sister Mary Anna, huh. What's with the kiddy book bag? Who is this--" He looked at the bag closely. "One Direction?"
Zayn pointed at it. "It's that boy band from England, they were on X Factor a while back."
"Never heard of them." Liam glared at the nun. "How about breaking out the ID."
The nun folded her hands and pleaded. "Oh please, good sir. I have to go. I'm off to help some poor, poor orphans. They need me. Please? Pretty please?"
"Come on, boss," Zayn said. "She's a nun, what can she do?"
Liam gave in. "Okay, you can go."
The nun bowed. "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you." She took her One Direction bookbag and moved along.
"One Direction," Liam scoffed. "What is she, in high school?"
"Didn't one of them leave the group?" Zayn asked.
"I dunno."
They continued to watch the people. Zayn left to go to the bathroom and get coffee. Liam hoped the airport's coffee was better than the crap he had to drink at the station.
So far, no Styles and no Horans. Liam was going to remain vigilant. He would not fall for their juvenile tricks. Detective Liam J. Payne was smarter than that. He will catch them.
Then something caught his eye. Or rather someone.
Coming up was a woman. A vision, an angel. She was gorgeous.
Liam stood to attention. She was a tall drink of water. She had long blond hair, a lot of it. She wore a tube top that she kept tugging across her somewhat flat and tattooed chest. She also wore a mini skirt that showed off her long muscular legs, and high heels that she kept stumbling in. Her sunglasses covered most of her face but it still showed the sloppy makeup she wore.
Liam was smitten. Whoa. Damn. This woman was his.
He rushed up to her. "Hello, ma'am. Can I help you with anything?"
The woman lifted her sunglasses and looked him up and down. "Excuse me?"
Her voice was a little deep for him, Liam thought, but those pretty green eyes more than made up for it.
He would have liked for his women to not have so many tattoos. And she had some strange ones.
Like an anchor on her hand.
