Hello readers welcome to another edition of Rapid Rants where I rant about things about Tokyo Ghoul that annoy the hell out of me.
As you can tell by the opening statement, this edition will be about run on sentences. Unfortunately, these tend to make their appearances in 80% of Tokyo Ghoul fanfics. In all reality, it's not just the Tokyo Ghoul fandom, but all fandoms in general. Commas are a gift from the grammar gods, please use them. It would be a shame to not take advantage of the wonderful gift given to use to use.
More of these gifts include periods, colons, commas, exclamation points, question marks, quotation marks, and parentheses (for those who refuse to use quotation marks). These punctuation marks can cure the phenomenon known as, run on sentences.
It is not irking when I see fanfics attempt to use punctuation. But when they do not even use periods, that is annoying. Like 'are you fucking kidding me' annoying. It discourages the reader of you cannot use a comma, let alone a period!
An example of this is:
"hello welcome to muh fic i hope you like it plz coment warning LOTS OF SMUT"
Yes, spelling is also a common crime. So if your stories look like the example above, please fix them!
Before I end this rant (more like grammar lesson), I would like to thank all the men and women who serve(d) our country. They face things that we could only imagine. For that, I will be forever grateful for all they do for our country. Thank you!
