-HOGSMEADE-
"Oh my Gooooooddddd, Sage. C'mere, these sugar quills are amaziiiinngggg." Clara called. We were all hanging out in Honeydukes, having nothing better to do than trying out new kinds of candy. Draco was in the corner with his Slytherin friends, challenging each other to eat as many vomit-flavored Bertie's Every Flavor Beans without throwing up. I found that challenge kind of repulsive, so Autumn, Clara and I were in the opposite corner, joking around and eating sweets.
Draco appeared to have lost the challenge, and had to run outside. I rolled my eyes, and continued on our candy-trying expedition. Draco walked back inside after several minutes, and waved off the Slytherins that had come to help him out. Instead of rejoining his House, and walked over to me, and leaned against a post next to me like he'd not blown chunks a moment ago. I looked up at him, and asked,
"Well, that's quite a confident pose for you having just thrown up. I'm impressed." Autumn and Clara giggled, and quietly edged away from us. They wanted to see some Sago action.
"You think so?" Draco asked, puffing his chest out. He had obviously not gotten the hint of sarcasm I had used. I rolled my eyes for the second time in the past 20 minutes, and bit into my Sugar Quill. "Do you want to go to the Three Broomsticks? I feel like we haven't talked in ages." I looked at my friends, and they nodded enthusiastically, giving me permission to leave them.
"Yeah, sure." I responded, and walked outside with Draco, going down the cobblestone path to the Three Broomsticks. Once we got inside the pub, Draco got seats, and pulled mine out for me. I curtsied, being the nerd that I am, and sat down. Draco sat as well, and we ordered 2 butterbeers.
"So, what's new with you?" I asked, smiling.
"I'm working getting revenge on Harry Potter." Draco responded, with a wicked grin. A waitress showed up with our drinks, and I grabbed mine. Draco left his untouched in the center of the table. He was, strangely, staring at me.
"Really? How so?" I questioned him, sipping my drink.
"I'm going to get someone in his house to poison his pumpkin juice at breakfast." Draco smirked, stirring his drink, and shrugging casually like this was an everyday prank. My eyebrow quirked, and I gave him a look.
"What?" He asked, suddenly worried. "Is that too far? I just thought it would be good payback for what he did to me."
"Well, uhm, you would get in trouble. A lot of trouble. And I wouldn't talk to you for a while. But other than that..." I trailed off, looking into his eyes, which had suddenly gone as a big as an owl's.
"Why wouldn't you talk to me?" He asked, concerned.
"Because the ferret thing wasn't Harry's fault. It wasn't anybody's fault. It was just... you know..." I answered slowly. Draco's shoulders slumped.
"I guess." He said, staring into my eyes with a kind of intensity. "If you think so." We continued the conversation, though the chat was less serious than it's beginning. At one point, we got off on a tangent about stupid things Draco did in his common room. Halfway through a story about him, Crabbe and Goyle putting a spider on Snape's bed (apparently Snape wears black underwear), Autumn came through the door.
"Sage? We've got to go back to the castle. Hogsmeade time is over for today." She tugged at my arm, and shifted her eyes towards the door with a little grin. That was girl code for DUDE LET'S GO I WANNA HEAR WHAT HAPPENED!!! I looked at Draco, and said,
"I've got to go. Talk to you later?" He nodded, and waved me off. I left him staring at the door and beaming.A/N: New chapter today. Hope you all like it!!
