-A Few Months Later-
"Oh God." I whispered as I frantically tried to stop my cauldron from boiling over while also trying desperately to hide the scene from Snape. The bubbles were climbing higher, and it seemed that I couldn't calm them down. Umbridge was sitting the in corner, one of her pink heels tapping away as she made marks on a clipboard. Scowling, I turned the heat down with my wand and flicked more ingredients in, hoping to slow the cooking down. Umbridge had already interrogated me once about Professor Sprout, and I was hoping that she wouldn't ask me anything again. The woman made me want to punch her or punch myself, I was never quite sure. Draco, seeing me, dashed over a row and down one like a valiant knight to reach me.
"Alright, Sage?" He asked, pushing his hair to the side with his hand.
"Not really." I mumbled, flicking my wand to drop some ingredients in.
"You want some help?" Draco placed his hand gingerly on my shoulder and smiled, gently tugging away my scales.
"Yes please." I groaned, sitting down. Looking around, I noticed that other students were having problems with the potion too; some were glancing at their neighbor's progress fervently while others were immersed in their book.
"So," Draco started, bringing me back to the present, "you just added too little doxy eggs, and stirred too many times. I worked it out for you." He puffed up his chest, and I looked up at him. He had shot up in height in the last few months, and was at least a head taller than me now. I smiled up at him.
"Thanks Draco!" He grinned down at me, and ran his fingers through his hair.
"No problem. Just, ah, call me over if you need help again, okay?" Ruffling my hair up, he walked back over to his table, still smiling amid the jeers coming from Crabbe and Goyle.
"Awww, got to help the wittle Hufflepuff again, Draco?" Crabbe said with a crooked grin.
"Shut up." Draco responded, sitting down again.
"Oh my god." Autumn whispered in my ear, smiling.
"What now...." I responded, feigning sudden interest in my potion, trying to hold back a smile.
"Honestly, WHEN is that boy going to ask you out? It's obvious you two ought to be dating officially by now..." Autumn squealed, poking me in the arm.
"I dunno what he's thinking. He may just want to stay friends." I responded nonchalantly.
"Uh huh. Yes, he totally wants to stay friends as he stares at you from across the room in every class he has with you..." Autumn said sarcastically, moving her head around to get a better look at Draco behind me. I turned around to see if something had happened to him. As our eyes met, his cheeks burned bright red and he flicked his eyes back to his potion. So. He HAD been staring.
"My hair probably looks like a lion mane, I bet that's why he's looking." I said calmly, turning back around.
"YOUR hair looks like a lion?" Autumn said in disbelief, pointing to her own mess of curly hair which, from all the humidity in the room, resembled a puffball. I stifled a giggle.
"Ladies, could you perhaps pay attention to your potions. Yours is close to bubbling over, Miss Oswald..." Snape said, gliding by the table.
"Oh, uhm, yes Professor. Sorry." Snape gave us a curt nod before moving on.
"Ah, special treatment for being Draco's almost-girlfriend...." Autumn teased.
"Oh shut up." I responded, laughing.A/N: OMG HI GUYS
