I Need You

Chapter 16

Today was my first day back at school since my brothers death. It felt a little weird since I haven't been out of the house much but my brother wouldn't want me to be locked up in my room all day, everyday. I still kept my necklace on under my uniform. Last night, Nathan and I decided to tell our friends, my family and his brother today about our relationship. I was scared a little but mostly happy. I grabbed my bag and swung it over my shoulder. When my phone buzzed. I grabbed it out of my pocket and looked at the message.
Mr. Popular: hey u ready?
Me: yes I am y?
Mr. Popular: James and I r out the front waiting for u
Me: ok I'm coming

I put my phone away and said bye to my parents before I walked outside to see James's car out the front. James beeped the horn and waved at me.

"Get in loser we're going to school" he yelled at me from in the car.

"Really you could of yelled get in loser we're going shopping" I yelled back while walking to the car. I opened the back door of the car and hopped in and shut the door behind me. James began to drive us all to school, Nathan turned to look at me and he smiled, I smiled back. He winked at me before turning back to the front. We soon reached school and James parked his car. We all hopped out and walked over to the others. Both Jason and Daisey where making out with each other but stopped when they heard James clear his throat. They both looked at us, Daisey blushed and hid her face in his chest.

"Guys, Melody and I have something to tell you" Nathan told them and took a step to his left, now he was standing next to me.

"Melody and I are together" Nathan looked at me, smiled and entangled his hand into mine.

"About time" Jason laughed and patted him on the back.

"Yay! you guys are cute together" Daisey smiled at us. James stood in between Nathan and I, he patted us both on the back.

"I knew it because I had to help him set up for the date" James told them. I looked at Nathan.

"Oh really?" I asked. Nathan looked at me while putting his arms up in surrender.

"What it was short notice and I needed to make it good" he replied. I laughed.

"It's okay Nathan" I told him. I moved James so I could place a kiss on Nathan's cheek.

"Aw where's my kiss Melody I've known you longer than Nathan" James whined and pulled the sad face.

"Im not dating you James" I told him, pinching his cheeks.

"So? You can kiss my cheek" James said and put his cheek in my face. I laughed and pecked his cheek, he smiled.

"Yay! Ha Nathan I got a kiss on the cheek" James sticks his tongue out at Nathan and dances in his face.

"Yeah, whatever, but I can do this" Nathan said. He grabbed my face and connected his lips with mine. The kiss quickly ended, he pulled away and I looked to see James with his arms crossed over his chest.

"So I've known her longer than you and she's MY best friend" James said just as the bell went and we all walked to our first class.

School was the same as I remember. I swear I had more fun at home, the only thing I missed was dance and I missed a lot of it. Nathan was helping me catch up on what I had missed. But since I was a fast learner, I caught up pretty fast. School soon ended and James let Nathan drive his car, we dropped James off home. Nathan drove us to his brother's house and we told him about us being together. He was happy for us and he told Nathan to take care of me, which was nice of him. We both thanked him and went back to the car. Nathan drove to my place to tell my parents, Nathan held his right hand in mine and drove with his left hand. The radio played and I Jammed to the beat. We soon reached my house and he parked the car. We both hopped out and I grabbed my bag. We walked up to the front door and I unlocked it. We walked inside and I put my bag down, we walked into the kitchen to see my parents, the looked up to see us.

"Hey kiddos" dad greeted the both of us.

"Hello" Nathan said.

"Hey" I said to both of them.

"Mum, dad I have to tell you something" I told them and mum stopped chopping.

"What?" They both asked.

"Nathan is my boyfriend" I replied and they both smiled.

"We're happy for you both just look after my girl okay?" Mum told Nathan and he nodded.

"Don't hurt her" my dad said looking at Nathan.

"I wouldn't dream of it" he told my dad.

"I want to make her happy and always be there for her, I will treat her like a princess" he told my parents. I smiled.

"I hope so, but we're happy for you both like your mother said" dad said.

Nathan soon had to go back to James' for dinner. He pecked my lips before he drove off. I went inside for dinner, I grabbed my bag from the couch and put it in my room. I went back downstairs and I sat down at the dinner table. Mum placed my dinner in front of me before her and dad both sat down and we began to eat.

"Honey isn't Nathan an exchange student?" Mum asked.

"Uh yeah he is why?" I asked still eating.

"What's going to happen when he goes back home?" She asked. Then it hit me. I didn't think of that when he asked me out. I've never been in a long distance relationship, well I haven't been in any relationship. What if I can't do it or he cheats on me. I can't kiss him or hold him, I can only see him through a screen. I shook the thought out of my head. I don't want to think about it. We'll cross that bridge when it comes to it. For now I just wanted to enjoy being with him.

"I don't know" I told her and continued to eat.
