I began to slowly move my face closer to hers. My heart beating 100 miles an hour, my palms probably were starting to sweat. Our eyes met, I was just inches away from touching her lips. I inhaled once before pressing my lips against hers....

''Oi Dan, get up''

I opened my eyes, it was only a dream. A dream I wished came true so many times before. I wish I could feel her lips against mine. But I knew that couldn't happen any time soon with her just breaking up with her boyfriend. 

Call me a terrible person, but deep down I'm happy it's over...

''Dan you hear me?'' It was Glen on the other side of the door. 

I groaned, ''I'm up, I'm up'' I said and got out of bed. ''What do you want?'' I asked as I opened the door.

''You want to go down to the airport and wait for Mark?'' He asked. 

Part of me was saying, yes go, Mark is your best friend. The other part of me was saying, no, go see Jess instead, tell her how you feel. 

I shook my head; I needed to get these thoughts out of my head. I couldn't say that to her right now.

''Well...?'' Glen was staring at me, waiting for me to give him an answer.

''I can't, I have to do something'' I said before really thinking about it. 

''Suit yourself, I'll tell Mark you had better things to do than see him'' 

I laughed, typical Glen. ''Tell him I'm sorry, I'll see him later on today'' 

Glen just nodded and saluted me and walked off.

Yes, he saluted. He's cool like that....

I walked back to my bed and sat down and started at the door. Did I just ditch Glen and Mark to tell Jess how I felt? Did I really want to do this?

After all, it has been almost five years since I've liked her. I couldn't let it go on for any longer.

Then again, I wasn't sure of how she felt. I mean I knew she liked me when she was about 18... But that was at least 7 years ago. She has probably moved on by now.

''What do I do?'' I asked myself out loud. 

I decided to take a shower and clear my head.
