Chapter Sixteen: Luck In My Pocket

Lottie's Point of View

I joined the heart together at the top of my drawing. It was of picture of George and I, sitting under a tree with our backs to the viewer watching the sunset with his hand resting on top of mine. Drawing brought me comfort. Still, I only received grunts and mumbles since this kiss. I'd given up. Alex has given up. We'd all given up. The twins seemed to have disappeared from existence since we went to Hogsmeade. We'd hardly spoke to each other, besides in lessons and at dinner. They were busy out pranking, and Alex had decided to return to guitar playing and doing homework. Actually homework. I had no choice but to draw or read or sob or all three. I didn't like it. It's like we had no time for each other since ... then. I felt all alone. It was sad. Very sad.

I looked up for the first time in half an hour, and noticed how silent the common room was. Harry was laid on the couch at my feet, nursing the golden egg in his hands, staring deep into the fire. I was sitting on the back of the couch, and was doodling. Now I'm not. Hermione was sitting at the table reading a book, and Alex was perched next to her, morphing her looks and pulling faces at herself in her mirror. Are they ... antlers? "Its alright. It doesn't matter. Calm down. It's fine."

"Ron?!" Hermione said. I looked to the portrait door and saw Ginny along with five other girls walking in, holding Ron up on their shoulders. They sat him down on the table. Ron looked up to the ceiling and smiled absent mindedly. He looked quite dazed and confused,

"What the--" Alex began before she cut herself off and followed Hermione across the room to Ron,

"Bloody hell!" I exclaimed and jumped off the back of the couch,

"What happened to you?" Harry asked,

"He asked Fleur Delacour out." Ginny informed us,

"And?" Harry asked again. I sat down crossed legged in front of Ron, whilst Hermione and Alex kneeled,

"Please tell me she said no?"

"Of course she said no!" Alex replied to me in disgust. Ron shook his head,

"She said yes?!" Hermione giggled. Alex and I looked at each other and curled our lips,

"Don't be silly." Ron shook his head, "There she was. Just walking, simply beautiful. Like ... always. You know like it when they walk, Harry!"

"Don't they all." I grumbled. I remember how George looked at them. Then my inner self wailed for our fallen relationship,

"It just kind of ... slipped out."

"Actually you screamed at her." Ginny said, and leant over her brother's shoulder, "It was pretty terrifying."

"So then what?" Alex asked, looking at Ginny,

"What did you do then?"

"I ran, Harry." Ron answered, shaking his head, "I just ran. What else could I do? I'm not cut out for this Harry. It's not me."

"Hey Harry." I heard two voice say in unison. I looked up to see Parvati and Padma Patil walking from the common room. I turned to look at Alex, but she was already staring at me. We grinned at each other, before running after them.

"So what I decided is--" Alex began, sitting beside me on my bed in our dormitory,
