Chapter Nineteen: Luck And It's Many Mood Swings.

Lottie's Point of View

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

"What! What what what!" Alex yelled my prolonged scream. She was leaning over the banister outside our dormitory shouting down to me in the common room. We was on lunch break, and everyone but us was out of the tower,

"NOOOOOO! NO! NO!"

"LOTTIE!"

"I broke it!" I wailed,

"Broke what?!" Alex shouted,

"It!"

"You couldn't of!" Alex said to me as she jumped off the last stair up to the dormitories and stood beside me,

"I heard it! I heard it go Alex!" I told her. Alex scrunched her face up, and then looked at me sympathetically,

"Ouch." I merely nodded to her and continued to stare at the mess in front of me. On our usual couch was The Healer's Helpmate. It wasn't a heavy book, and was relevantly small in all directions. Then under it was my Gryffindor robe. And in my Gryffindor robe was a quill, half of a white chocolate cookie, the picture of Lupin and me as a baby and then my wand. And as I jumped onto the couch to read my book, my knees landed onto my robes and ...

Snap went my wand.

"I just don't understand how it could of happened." McGonagall said, ending her pace around Dumbledore's office and turning to look at him, "It shouldn't of broke because of that!"

"What will be ... will be Minerva." Dumbledore said calmly, "There is no good in asking 'what if?' and 'why?' now, because the event has already taken place. What is left now is to take the necessary steps in replace Miss Lupin's wand, as well as what seems her dignity."

"I'm not that fat am I?" I said nervously and looked up to Alex,

"Of course not!" She grinned, then looked at McGonagall worriedly,

"You'd have to weigh a ton to break it just by sitting on it!" McGonagall exclaimed, "It must of--"

"It will do no good to dwell Minerva." Dumbledore said, and nodded once to her. McGonagall looked like she was going to roll her eyes, "Now, we shall begin to look into getting you a new one, Colette. When we have something arranged or anything you should be let know of, we shall do that. Now off you girls go. Oh, sherbet Miss Tonks?"

"Can't say no!" Alex grinned, swiping a sweet from the dish full on Dumbledore's desk,

"Enjoy." Was all he said, before he winked at us both. I waved as I exited his office, and Alex called her thanks before sliding down the railing,

"What now?" Alex asked,

"Oh no, lunch can't be over!" I wailed again, "I needed to speak to--"

"Is it Defence? Or Potions?"

"Remember these visits still remain a privilege to you all!" McGonagall shouted across the court yard, "Anyone in Hogsmeade which behaves incorrectly shall be escorted back to the castle where they will remain in their dormitories for the rest of this weekend, and will be serving detention later this evening."

"Time of the m-oooonth." Alex sung quietly. I giggled,

"You're so wrong."

"Hey, no more wrong than them two." Alex whispered back, pointing at Fred and George who were standing on the other side of the crowd, chuckling to themselves and looking like they was holding something over Ron's head,

"So remember to put your best foot forward and be respectful to all the residents and shopkeepers! You are representing your house, and you school!"

"All student's for Hogsmeade ... follow me." Filtch shouted after McGongall's speech was complete. Alex and I mingled into the crowd of students and slowly managed to get down the hill and into the village,

"What's first?" Alex asked me,

"Run away from the twins?" I suggested. She grinned and ran straight for Dominic Maestro's. I checked over my shoulder, before going after her into the shop. It was a small store, and was cluttered with instruments I did and did not recognise. By guessing, I figured we run into a music shop. I mentally sighed. Making music is boring,

"Maybe they sell strings for guitar and I could get some new ones!" Alex said, looking excitedly all around the shop, "I never knew this was even here!"

"Calm it Tonks! Remember that's a muggle instrument you're talking about, and I doubt they sell them in here." I told her in an attempt to encourage her out of the shop. Alex held a thoughtful look, before shrugging and nodding in agreement. We headed out of the store and headed for HoneyDukes.

"Gotcha!" A voice whispered in my ear. I then screamed as George grabbed my arms, lifted me into the air and threw me over his back. Fred and George had caught Alex and I as we were leaving Gladrag's Wizardwear. We forgot about hiding for a few seconds, and in that time they managed to get us. However, Fred and Alex had run off as soon as they met up, so I'm still undecided if there has being some kind of secret plan made with my initial idea. But what was important right now was George had decided to throw me onto his back, and was making his way through Hogsmeade unfazed by this,

"No! George! Put me down right now!" I yelled and beat my fists on his back. It still felt firm, as it did the last time I was here a few weeks back, and my punches didn't faze him at all, "Stupid beater muscles!"

"Haha! Is Lottie defeated?!" He called to me, hoisting me further onto his shoulder. I sighed deeply, propping myself up on my elbow whilst leaning on his shoulder blade, watching the shops and building pass by. After walking through to the end of the street, George dropped me down, "Enjoy that?"

"Once my heart was beating normally, yes thanks." I nodded. George looked pleased with himself, and there was a gleam in his eye,

"Well I know where my twin and his sidekick are, would Miss Lupin like to ride properly upon my shoulder to save her little legs from working?" George said, and squatted down. I stood and wondered what to do for a second, then wondered why I even needed to question what I was going to do as I climbed onto George's shoulders. His hands gripped my ankles, and he stood up ever so slowly. I felt a bit wobbly for a start, it was years since I sat like this, but my balance held out and George trudged onwards down the hill into the outskirts of the village,

"Where are we going?" I asked George. My butt rose and dropped as he shrugged his shoulders,

"I see them run down here, so I'm following my gut." He called up to me. I smiled,

"How heroic." I muttered,

"Anything for my little Princess Lupin eh?" I looked down to his face and George was looking up to mine. His eyes bore into mine, the brown mixing with the green, and George slowly stopped walking. I felt a small bubble burst in my stomach, and George swallowed. My half smile made an appearance on my face, and I could tell from George's eyes he was searching in his mind for something to say. In a mad burst of excitement, bravery and terror, I felt myself guardedly moving down towards him, and George seemed to be moving upwards,

"OI! OVER HERE WEASLEY!" A yell rang out through the woods. I yelped and pulled myself away from George, so far I fell from his shoulders. I was going down, but then I felt two hands wrapped tightly around my ankles, and hoist my body back up onto George's shoulders. I was thrown a little too far forward this time, but gripped onto the front of his t-shirt to steady myself. I peered at George through the corner of my eye, but all I saw was a blinding bright red ear.

"You did whut?" Alex said quickly, her voice sounding utterly astounded and face looking smacked,

"I lent forward a little and I ... I almost did it!" I grinned, and leapt up from the floor. Alex jumped up from her seated position on her bed, and I stood to join her,

"I am SO SO sorry I yelled!" Alex said as we began to jump on her bed,

"It's okay!" I bellowed in reply over the intense squeaking noise coming from the springs inside Alex's bed,

"I didn't realise what you two was doing!" She hollered, "If I'd of known, I would of being more inclined to leave you to do your business then disturb you!"

"I had a mad five minutes! Bravery rushed through me!"

"It's called being a Gryffindor! You're going to find that sometimes!" Alex collapsed onto her bed, and was panting heavily. I patiently brought myself to a stop, before kneeling down at the end of her four-poster,

"Alright?" I asked between breaths. Alex gave me a nod, then pulled herself up with the headboard and hugged her arms around her pillow,

"Knackered." She sighed,

"I'll fetch some water." I proclaimed, before jumping off her bed and dashing for a tap.

I was leaning against the wall in the entrance hall of Hogwarts, waiting for Dumbledore to see me. McGonagall had told me to come here at the end of Potions, so naturally I had. She also said to go all alone, so naturally George, Fred and Alex were also stood with me. George was standing next to me, and I noticed he would occasionally glance at me through the corner of his eyes. Not that I wasn't doing the same of course, because that would be weird, "Locomotor Wibbly!"

"No!" Fred shouted, holding his arms out in an attempt to block Alex's jinx. He obviously failed, bless him, and his legs collapsed and Fred fell to the ground,

"Yeah!" Alex cheered, then sneezed violently,

"You should really go see someone about that." I commented, "Make sure you're not--"

"It's a bit of a cold Lot."

"In the summer?"

"My hair's blue, I can break rules like that." Alex chuckled, then prepared herself for Fred's jinx as he slolwly managed to get up from the floor,

"Melofors!" Fred came out with. Alex laughed loudly, but then was encased by a pumpkin,

"Is that all you got?" Came a muffled yell and cough,

"You are going to check that out!" I shouted. Alex waved a dismissive hand towards me, and rose her wand to throw another jinx,

"Impedimenta!" Fred grinned, and his jinx got Alex before she had chance to get him. A slow cough came out, and the pumpkin cracked and fell off her head Alex broke into a slow run and went for Fred,

"Unfair game play brova!" George called. I laughed at Alex's slow motion sprint, and her hand that came out to strangle the air,

"That's true." I agreed with George between giggles,

"Was pretty unfair play. Two jinxes in one go, thats like two goes in wizard's chess consecutively."

"Well, that was a large word for Mr Weasley." I smiled,

"If you like large, there's plenty where that came from." George grinned. I gasped at him and then had to look away,

"I can't even--" I cut myself off, "Just--" I did it again, "You're so wrong."

"Mmmm, but so right!"

"Oh, I just-- Oh." I muttered, throwing my arms in the air and turning a corner of my back to George. I jumped up onto the wall edge, and George dragged himself up after me. I heard him chuckle proudly, then he put his arm around me and pulled me back towards him,

"You know Lottie, you really will never win."

"I never win with any of you guys!" I whined. I felt like a child, but I decided to take two minutes to be a classically annoying female,

"Well then maybe you should try harder!"

"I'm trying hard enough thanks very much!" I told George, and lent on his right knee,

"Well maybe you need a few more lessons from one of the big boys." He said, and pinched my cheek. I stared at him blankly, "Who's a good ickle Lottie?"

"Who's a pain in the arse Weasley?" I retorted. George leaned back and gasped,

"Rude." He muttered. I grinned at him, and George stuck his tongue out at me. We then sat for a while in silence, with just the sound of Fred and Alex's jinx's flying through the air, looking from them to each other. It was surprising to say that neither one of us felt any kind of awkwardness following the event of yesterday, though I must admit I still feel I could do it again. I don't know why, but I've begun to feel even more drawn to George than I had being before. It was like I was turning into the love sick one. Another burst of courage swept through me. Go Gryffindor!

"Ma--"

"May-- Oh! No, you go first."

"No, you go." I told George,

"Maybe we could ... Nah, it doesn't matter."

"Are you sure?" I asked him. He nodded, "Well it matters to me."

"I was just ... thinking. You know, maybe ... maybe we could go to The Three Broomsticks ... On the next Hogsmeade trip like! You know, just to ... talk?" George slowly uttered out. I could tell he was nervous. He kept fiddling with his fingers, his ears were glowing and his gaze didn't shift much. I slowly broke into a smile,

"That would be just ... great." I nodded,

"Or maybe Madam Puddifoot's!" George exclaimed, "I heard it's ... much nicer."

"Sure." I nodded again. George beamed with pride,

"It's a ... date?" He asked. I smiled wider,

"If you'd like that."

"I ... would love that." George concluded. He grinned and I giggled, "Let's not tell them lovebirds though, eh?" I looked up at George confused,

"W--"

"It's Fred and Al." George said bluntly, and stared at me like I was supposed to know what he was talking about,

"Some things a lady and gentleman don't tell to their second halves?" I guessed. George nodded,

"Wouldn't want any ideas flying around in Cuckoo land." He said, and tapped the side of his nose. I giggled again,

"THAT'S IT! I AM FINISHED WITH YOU FREDRICK!" Alex bellowed through the entrance hall. She then laid down on the floor and fell asleep instantly,

"Well I wasn't expecting that." Fred said, spinning his wand around his fingers and then storing it in his pocket, "How long have we being waiting now?"

"About ... thirty two minutes?" I hazarded a guess. Fred shrugged, then sat down on the wall next to George,

"What are we even waiting for?"

"You shouldn't even be here." I rolled my eyes to Fred, "You insisted--"

"That whenever McGonagall says you have to go alone, you take the whole crew yes." Fred said, and made a face. George nodded,

"He's right you know."

"Oh just--" I began, and then I noticed Dumbledore was descending down his stairs,

"Finally!" Alex exclaimed, rising up off the floor. I stared at where she had laid. She was totally out of it a second ago,

"Well it was a pleasure to see you again," I noted Dumbledore say as he reached the bottom of his stairs, "And do be prepared for the next few seconds, you will of course learn soon that your daughter is an extremely excitable per--"

"DADDDDYYYYYY!"
