Chapter Thirteen: Another Page In The Diary
Lottie's Point of View
Seventh of December, and a cool winter breeze was blowing over Black Lake. I looked up from my parchment as Viktor Krum strode past, then looked right at us. Fred gave him a disgusted look, Alex remained emotionless, George seemed not to notice his presence, and I continued to spin the quill between my fingers in hope of inspiration for the letter I was writing to Lupin. So far I had 'Dear Daddy', "Disgusting." Fred muttered as a bunch of maybe fifteen Hogwarts girls appeared, clearly following Krum,
"Since when did you become a judge?" I asked, "Sitting there, judging those girls. They might all be his sisters." I said. Fred huffed,
"What a puff." Alex said plainly, still watching as he passed us and went walking up the hill towards Hogwarts with his parade of girls following close behind,
"Oh, do grow up Alex." Came Hermione's voice behind us. I turned to see her, Harry and Ron walking down to the lake, "He isn't all that bad."
"I wish you luck, my child." Alex said, standing up, "He's not all he's cracked up to be."
"Here, you guys have this rock." I said, offering our seating to the three. The twins also rose,
"Lottie, can I borrow one of your spell books?" Hermione asked, "Just trying to revise up."
"Yeah sure. I'll erm ... get it to you later?" I asked. Hermione nodded, and we departed Black Lake, heading back up the hill towards Hogwarts and for Defence Against the Dark Arts. I have still to write my letter.

Where the twins had gone, I do not know. But what I do know is that Alex seems quite down, even depressed. She sighed with every step on the stairs, and I couldn't help but wonder what was wrong. Along the third floor corridor, we ran into Cedric, who smiled at Alex, "Are you Alex Tonks? Right?"
"Yeah, sure." She said, "Whats up?"
"I was just wondering ... you don't happen a date to the ball, do you?"
"Oh. Erm ... Well, I--" She began hesitantly. Is she going with Fred? WAHOO!
"She can't!" I said, in a bold tone. Alex and Cedric both looked stunned,
"Oh!" Alex exclaimed,
"Oh." Cedric said solemnly, "Well ... maybe another time."
"Yeah. Maybe." Alex said, her voice seething with sarcasm. He smiled, before walking briskly away from us,
"AH!" I screamed, grabbed Alex's hands and jumped a few times. She jumped too, but much less enthusiastically. I took the rest of the journey with a spring in my step.

I strode confidently into Defence Against the Dark Arts and took my seat in the middle of the class. Fred and George had since reappeared and were waiting outside of the room for Alex and I. George followed me closely and stole the seat next to me, seemingly pissing Alex off as she flopped down in a seat behind us, and began to sigh as dramatically and loudly as she could, until Fred grabbed the chair next to her and stopped her mid-sigh. It was some pretty amazing stuff really. Alex half-sighed. I dragged my note book from my bag and threw it onto the desk, opening it to my latest masterpiece, spinning the book ninety degrees and putting quill to parchment, continued my drawing of a medow with one lonely tree as the sun set. I felt George's breath on my neck as he stared down at my work and I casually tried to hid it from him, lying my arm over most of the drawing besides the part I was working on. His head never moved, he just slowy took my arm and moved it onto the desk and he sighed. I felt my neck go warm where his breath hit. It sent a shiver down my back and hoping he hadn't notice, I gently pushed him back a little so he wasn't tormenting as well as distracting me, even though he wasn't meaning to. I looked at him, probably having a more violent look than intended, and he smiled apologetically. I then smiled a little and nodded, "You were a little off-putting." I whispered to him as he looked relived and also began to smil,
