Chapter 33

Peeta's P.O.V.

I'm going crazy. I'm actually going crazy. They took Katniss away from me when we came in, I think that they thought she was going to die. But that's not why I couldn't go with, Katniss was the one who said she didn't want me to come.

I've got to say that it stung a bit, but I can understand her as well. But I'm going crazy out here waiting. Eddie is also freaking out a bit. He's absolutely certain that Katniss is going to die. He based that on the way she screamed.

"Peeta".

I turn around to see that it was Katniss father calling my name. He's running with Elijah in his arms and Prim running beside him.

"Eddie!" Prim shouts.

Beside Prim runs Ames. Yeah I vague remember Eddie telling me that Prim was probably be with Ames today, that's why he wasn't with her today. He wanted to give them some quality time together.

"What happened?" Mr Everdeen asks and puts down Elijah on the floor.

"I... Don't really know", I say. "We were talking and she just fell down and started screaming in pain".

"I heard the screams and ran to see what happened and she was there just bleeding", Eddie says. "Oh god there was so much blood, and not really blood though, it looked a little differently and it was like big lumps and just I've never seen it before".

"Lumps?" Mr Everdeen asks.

"Yeah", I say, now remembering that Eddie is right. "Big dark lumps in the slimy blood".

I look down at my shirt and arm. I'm bloody. It's started to dry, I haven't had time to change or anything I mean no way I'd leave the hospital. And frankly, I don't care if I'm bloody, all I care about is Katniss.

I mean I know she's not going to die, and we're at the hospital. But I have this gut feeling that's making me feel sick to my stomach.

Eddie is holding Prim in his arms, and Ames is standing with Elijah.

"Peeta what's happened?"

I turn around to see Gavin, Livia, Finnick and Annie come running towards us.

"You sent a text saying that Katniss is at the hospital", Finnick says.

"You don't do that!" Livia says hitting her first onto my arm. "Do you know how many possible horrible things I've been thinking on the way here?!"

"Ouch!" I say. "I'm sorry! I didn't know what to say because I don't know what happened to her exactly".

Although I have a hunch. But I don't want it to be true. I so don't want it to be true.

"Why did you bring her in here?" Annie asks in a panicked voice.

"Because I... She", I don't know how to say it.

"Peeta Mellark?"

I turn around yet again but this time I see a doctor. The doctor I saw when I came in with Katniss.
