Chapter 13 : New Pets?

  Soon?

  The only word I've been thinking about after this week. What does it mean? I'm not sure. Although Erwin has returned from his trip and everything has been normal.If you consider Hanji trying to test for new assistants normal. She's told me that I've been the longest one she's had, but I quit cause she crossed the line.

~Flashback~

  "No."

  "But why?! I need your help!"

  "I understand your a scientist and you do these types of things, but I'm not! You've crossed a line I would never cross."

  She was trying to get me to bathe her Titan 'babies'. And when I mean bathe, I mean everywhere!

~FlashBack End~

  "(Y/n)! Erwin's wants the Special Operations Squad in his Office in 5 minutes!" I hear Eren through my bedroom door. I just got finished putting my uniform. "Okay! Thanks Eren!" I buckle the last belt and head towards Erwin's office.

  "As you all know by now, we have an expedition coming up soon. 2 months approximately. I've convinced the military council to let the Special Operation Squad to have their new 'partners'." He removes the drape from the tower of mystery to reveal 7 cages which contain baby wyverns. Small gasps were heard.

  "These wyverns will be your new partners. Mr. Theo Moon here will be teaching you with them since he has the most knowledge of taming and training wyverns. When I say everyone, I mean everyone." He gives a slight look towards Levi. Oh, was Levi a rebellious cadet when he joined?

  "So listen carefully, don't try to do short cuts, and make sure you treat your partner right. Please choose your wyvern." He steps aside and gestures to the cage. Once everyone chose their wyvern in the end I was the last one to choose. Eren had picked a green one, fierce and determined like it's master. Eld chose a red one, intelligent in some categories but very skilled at flying. Gunther with a brown wyvern, it could camouflage and was like a mini assassin with it's razor sharp wings. Oluo with a orange one, very disobedient, but reliable I can already tell. Petra got the pink one which is very loyal and strong. 

  That left a black one with a white spot on it's forehead and a white one with, vice versa, a black spot. Levi chose the black one. When he walked back into the line the wyvern sat on his shoulder instead of by his feet like the others and copied his stoic expression. Mini Levi......alrighty then. That left me with the white one, the runt of the liter. When I touched it's head something surged through my hand to my head. Felt like a..a...a bond. I could sense what it felt and right now is was overjoyed to be my partner as it fly to my shoulder as well and sat curled around my neck. Tickling slightly, but it's warm and nice.

  I whisper over to Levi when I see how cute he looks with his mini him. "Hey, Captain. You have yourself a mini you. It's cute." 

  "Tch. We're not cute. We're your worst nightmare and...." He stopped suddenly when I could see a very, very, VERY slight smirk on his face.

  "Thats what I'll name him. Nightmare."

  "Suits him. Just like his master." I grin. I can see him giving me a death glare as I only smile.

  "Joking....a little."

  "Tch." He walks away with the others as we go to begin our training with the wyverns. I scratch under my little wyvern's chin as I follow behind.

  "So are you a girl?" I whisper to it. She nods. 

  "Okay, then we'll have to name you. What about.........Luna. How about that?" She starts to squirm and cry out quietly in joy at her name. "Okay, okay, calm down little one. Luna it is then." I giggle at her enthusiasm. 

  With wyverns you have to have a true bond with them. It takes trust and loyalty. Being the smallest of the Dragon Family, they are the fastest and sharpest, physically and mentally, are they rare. They can easily distrust their master. But I have a feeling that this trust is something so strong that not even the Titans themselves could tear it apart.

  "The first step to taming a wyvern is showing it they can trust you. By doing so, you must approach it slowly, once close enough you patiently wait until it lays peacefully in your lap. If not, it will fly away or if you threaten it, attack you. Now, begin." Everyone starts to follow procedure. Quickly, Nightmare and Luna are already trusting of us so we just watch as the rest have a hard time.Mostly Oluo and Eren. 

  When everyone was finally settled, they gave them names. Gunther with Kimi, meaning noble and perfect since it was a girl. Oluo was Mayayoshi, meaning righteous/honorable, a boy. Petra with Misaki, a girl. Eld with Yuudai, a boy. And lastly Eren with Ryuu, a boy. Most were Japanese while Luna was just simple, but elegant. Levi with frightening, yet fierce. 

  This is going to be a long training session, just to get the basics covered. 

  "(Y/n). Very proud of you and how you were quick. Your training has come in handy indeed. Good job my little wyvern." 

  "Thanks Papa Snow."
