Chapter 8 : New Friends

After the Titan Breach and Eren's Shifting

Your POV

  "Hey, (Y/n)! We're getting a new recruit! Levi needs you to go pick him up with Theo !" Petra yells from down the hall. The new recruit is Eren Jaeger. A titan shifter......A TITAN SHIFTER! We were all surprised by this. When we were called in and witnessed it first hand, WOW was we surprised. After the trial , along with Levi's 'persuasion' of the court, we were able to admit him to the Scouts Regiment. I don't want to be on the other end of his 'persuasion' anytime soon. Although something gives me an uneasy feeling about this whole situation. If Eren is a Titan Shifter then there's bound to be more than just him.

  "Ok! Thanks Petra." I've been able to be a little more open with my squad and others around me. It took some time, but everyone was understanding and patient with me. I'm happy to be getting some time with Papa Snow since I haven't been able to see him much, but we still talk when we can. Some about how we're doing and some about my secret. The others still don't know about anything from my past, nor about the bad memories.

  After changing into my uniform, I head towards the Mess Hall to meet Papa Snow. I was adjusting the red cape on the uniform when I see no one was in the Mess Hall yet, so I went to make some tea while I wait. When the water was finished, I was barely able to hear the footsteps coming with the whistling from the tea kettle. 

  "Morning Corporal." I salute to time as he waves a hand of dismissal. I grab another cup and fix both of our drinks, mine with (your preferred way of tea flavoring) and just left Levi's bland.

  I set the cups down as he gladly takes his and takes gentle sips. I notice that his posture was a little uneven than normal and his eyes were more narrow. "Sir? Did you stay up all night again for paperwork?" 

  "Tch. Is it that obvious?" I've notice a lot about this place and the people here in such a short amount of time that it feels like I've been here for years on end. 

  "Your posture is a bit uneven than normal and your eyes are more narrow than normal also." I say bluntly since we've had some 'bond'. 

  "Erwin has dumped more paperwork on me. I swear, some of it is practically useless. D*** paperwork is going to be the thing that kills me."

  "I can help you if you want sir. I don't mind. You need your rest more than anyone. And with some less paperwork, the less you have to worry about yourself not getting enough rest." He looked a bit bewildered for a moment at my offer. He must not get a lot of offers like that. I don't understand why, after getting to know him for a bit, he's not all that bad. He is human, just has a hard time showing emotions like one.

  "(Y/n)?" I look behind me to see Papa Snow in his uniform and his hands behind his back like always. With a small glimpse of a grin on his face. 

  "Sorry Captain, but I must go. I have to pick up that 'Titan Brat' you wanted me to pick up." I take my cup to the sink and jog over to Theo and give a small wave to Captain before heading out.

  Every time...I can't find my breathe around him. It's nonexistent when he comes around. My heart flutters in my chest and my hands start to shake a little, but some how I manage to talk to him like it's nothing. How? I'm not sure. It's a new uncharted feeling to me.

  "Hey? Are you listening?" 

  "Oh! Um...no, sorry, I dozed off in thought for a moment."

  "It's alright. There's a lot going on, I can understand the feeling. Anyways, as anyone 'found out'?" He whispers the last part. "No, although, I suspect Levi. He's very observant, but I feel like we could trust him it were to come to something drastic." 

  "I feel the same, but let's do some more reconnaissance on him and some of the others before jumping to conclusions." Papa Snow says. "Agreed." We get into a carriage and take off towards our designation.

  "How have you been lately?"

  "Good, I'm opening up a bit more. More than I ever have really."

  "Yes, I've seen."

  "What about you?"

  "I've been fine. Erwin's training is nothing compared to our kind of training." He gives a hearty chuckle. I join him as I nod my head in agreement; his trainmen was much more harsh than the Scouts by far. "How long?"

  "How long what Papa Snow?"

  "How long have you felt 'uneasy' with Levi. The good kind of 'uneasy'. It written all over your face, at least to me it is." 

  "Wha!! Uh...well..I-I uh...yea. I don't know what it is."

  "Do you love him."

  "Love is a strong word, but it might be a possibility. I've never felt this kind of 'love'. You know this."

  "Alas I do. I've been in your place before. But know to take action before it's too late." We finally reach our point of interest as the driver opens the door to show a rather tall boy with brown shaggy hair and emerald eyes. 

  "Ah, you must be the Jaeger boy. Hop on. Commander Erwin is waiting back at HQ."

  "Oh, uh yes, thats me." Eren hops on as we make our way back to HQ.

  "Hi! I'm (Y/n) Moon. This is Theo Moon." I greet. "I'm Eren Jaeger. So, um, I was told I'll be with Corporal Levi's squad am I correct?" 

  "Yes, you'll be with me and a few others on the Special Operations Squad."

  "I've heard that the Corporal is a bit...uh...'cold'. Is that true?" 

  "Uh..weeellll. He can be at some times if you make him a bit irritated, but really when you get to know him, he can be a big cuddly teddy bear." I say giving a grin.

  Hoped ou enjoyed. I'll be updating for a while everyday to make up for the loss of updates I missed. That's a reminder to those who didn't read my author's note.
