Chapter 5 : Recruitment

Your POV

"(Y/n)."  I turn to see Papa Snow and Erwin behind me.

"Yes, Papa Snow?" 

"We're joining the Scouts." 

"What?! Why?!" 

  "If I may intrude for a moment, " Erwin interrupts. "but you see (y/n), I've known Theo for quite some time , I know his skills are beyond all of my best men here, and he's decided to join us, to help us. Although the question remains....will you help us in Humanity's war?"

  Bewildered by the news and information I looked straight into Theo's eyes. He was certain in his decision, but me, I'm not so sure. I trusted Theo with my life and as he with I. 

"May I have time to think about it?" I say more calm.

"Of course, as for now, let me show you to your rooms."

  After being shown my room, I was left to my thoughts.....which is a dangerous thing to me. Who's Casper? Why did he want me specifically? To use me like my parents or something much worse? Why does my mother want that rose safe?

  Although with the problem at hand, I do accept, how will I hide my power? I have no reason to doubt Papa Snow, because he's always been right with his decisions. Nothing has lead me to doubt him. I get up as I start towards Erwin's office knowing my answer to this choice. I know Theo will be with him discussing where Papa Snow will be placed. Most likely with Erwin as his 2nd Command and in his squad. 

  Wondering and sorting through these thoughts I bump into someone. We both stumble to the ground causing me to fall on top of the person. I straddle their waist and my hands placed just below their armpits to support my upper body.  Despite being ever so short in my height, this person was too short, but taller than me. I lift my head to see the same gray-blue eyes that showed no emotion.

  "Oh I-I'm....uh...sorry s-sir." I stutter. Darn my anxiety building up. I only seem professional when I'm able to look professional when I have to. 

  "Tch. Just get off me. Your getting us both filthy." In a cold tone that sent shivers down my spine. I scramble to my feet and help the guy up. Finally getting a good look at him. Taller than me by 2 inches, he has a pale complexion, but his hard cold expression expresses him perfectly. Raven undercut for hair, but everything about him made me gravitate towards him rather than away. He pats off any dirt that may be on him and looks back at me. 

"Why aren't you in uniform cadet?" He asks calmly. I kinda thought he shout at me.

"Oh, um, I'm not a cadet...yet." I mumble the last part. 

  "Well you best pay attention when you are one, or that will cause you to die on the field." He says harshly. Before he walks away though I grab his hand.

  "Wait! If you could, show me to Commander Erwin's office please?" He looks at me then back down at our hands and I quickly pull away.

  "Yes, but keep up." He starts on his way again as I quickly follow behind. We walk in silence when I realized I never knew his name. 

"Sir? If I may ask of your name?" 

"Levi, Levi Ackerman. Although when you join the Scouts its 'Corporal Levi' or 'Captain', understood?" He says only giving me a side glance. 

"Understood." 

We finally reach Erwin's office and as we step in the room goes silent. 

"Ah, Levi, I'm glad your here. Just wait just a moment. (Y/n)? Have you come to a conclusion?" 

"Yes, I have. I've decided to join the Scout Regiment."

  "Brillant, since Theo as informed me on your skills, you'll skip the training corps and head straight in. You'll be joining Captain Levi's Squad, the Special Operations. I'll have someone send you your uniform to your room. Levi meet your new cadet."

  I turn to Levi and hold out my hand to him. 

"It'll be an honor to work by your side Captain." He looks at my hand and back up at me. 

  "Tch. Just be at the training grounds tomorrow morning at 6 am cadet." Levi walks out of the room as the office is left in silence.
