Chapter 10

Trevor's POV

Jacob and I were cuddling. My mind began to wonder.

''Jacob?'' I asked.

''Hmm'' he replied.

''What happens if the guards find out that you helped us escape?'' I asked.

He stayed quiet for a while.

''I don't know'' he replied.

''Do you think we'll have to leave?'' Emma asked.

We looked at her.

''Sorry I didn't mean to eavesdrop'' she said.

''It's ok'' I replied.

''I mean they most likely already know you guys are missing so I guess we will have to leave soon'' he said.

''Where would we go?'' Caitlin asked.

''Wait Jacob didn't you tell you that you lived in 4 places to stay hidden?'' Lilly asked.

''Yeah, but I'm not sure if they've already searched those parts of town'' he replied.

''I can go check tomorrow though'' he added.

''I'll go with you'' I said.

''You don't have to'' he replied.

''No I want to'' I said.

''Are you sure?'' he asked.

''I mean there's a possibility that they'll be there and they'll capture us'' he added.

''At least we'll be together whether we're captured or not'' I replied.

He smiled then kissed me. We heard our friends saying ''aww'' in the background so we broke apart.

''We're gonna have to walk a lot just so you know'' he said.

''I don't care'' I replied.

''Alright, well get some sleep you look tired'' he said.

I nodded. I rested my head on his chest before going to sleep.

2-3 hours later

I slowly woke up.

''Hey you'' Jacob said.

I smiled.

''Hey'' I replied.

''You hungry?'' he asked.

''Kinda'' I replied.

He slowly got out of bed. I gave his arm.

''Come back here'' I said.

''I thought you were hungry'' he replied.

"I am, but I still wanna cuddle" I said.

He chuckled softly.

"Alright move over" he said.

I did as I was told. Once he laid down I wrapped my arms around his waist. We stayed like that for 45 minutes. I slowly got up.

"What happened?" he asked.

"I'm gonna get something to eat" I replied.

He nodded.

"Can you get me a water bottle?" he asked.

"Sure" I replied.

I grabbed 2 water bottles and a sandwich.

"You know I can get you something to eat right?" I asked.

"No it's ok" he replied.

"Alright" I said.

I handed him a water bottle.

"Thanks" he replied.

A few minutes later he got up.

"You got hungry?" I asked.

"Maybe" he replied.

He grabbed a sandwich and a bag of chips. After we finished eating we decided to trade places with Caitlin and Rebecca so they could get some rest. 3 hours later. Emma and Ethan traded places with us.

"Jacob" I said.

"Yes Trevor" he replied.

"What do you think life would be like if the guards didn't do anything to people that were different?" I asked.

"Nothing bad would happen to anyone, my family would still be alive and everything would be normal" he replied.

"Do you think we'd still know each other, if none of this ever happened?" I asked.

He stayed quiet for a while.

"I-I don't know" he replied.

"But let's not think about that right now" he added.

I nodded. He kissed me. I smiled against his lips.

"Get a room" Emma said.

We slowly broke apart.

"Or at least go downstairs where we can't see you guys" she added.

"Alright we'll stop" Jacob replied.

"So how far away are the other places that you've lived in?" I asked.

"Um....20 minutes away maybe" he replied.

I nodded.

"So we're going tomorrow right?" I asked.

He nodded. We continued talking about visiting Jacob's other houses. I started shivering.

"Are you cold?" he asked.

"Sort of" I replied.

He made fire appear out of nowhere.

"It's gonna take a while to get use to that" I said.

He chuckled softly.

"You're so extraordinary and I'm just average" I said.

"Well you might not have powers but you are extraordinary in your own ways" he replied.

I couldn't help but smile. I kissed him. He wrapped his arms around me. I felt safe with Jacob next to me.
