Chapter 13

Trevor's POV

"Do you know if he woke up while Lilly and I were talking?" Jacob asked.

"No, he was sound asleep" I replied.

He nodded.

"How do you think he ended up in that house?" I asked.

"I don't know, maybe my mom took him there so he'd be safe" he replied.

"I guess" I said.

After 2-3 hours Rebecca and Caitlin traded places with us. We walked over to our bed. Jacob wrapped his arms around me. After a few seconds we both fell asleep. 4 hours later I woke up to go to the bathroom. When I got back Jacob was awake.

"Morning" I said.

"Morning" he replied.

I kissed him. Once we broke apart I laid down so we could have some cuddle time.

"Is Andrew awake yet?" I asked.

He looked over to the bed next to ours.

"Nope" he replied.

"Are we the only ones awake?" I asked.

He looked around.

"No Emma, Alison and Matthew are awake" he replied.

I nodded. My mind began to wander.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked.

I snapped out of my thoughts then looked at him.

"Nothing" I replied.

He just looked at me.

"I know you're lying" he said.

"I'm just worried that one day the guards will find us" I replied.

"Don't worry they won't" he said.

"How can you be so sure?" I asked.

"Well there's other places we can go so we'll be safe" he replied.

"What if they've already searched that part of town by the time we have to leave?" I asked.

"We'll find another place" he replied.

"But what if-" I started to say when he cut me off by kissing me.

"Don't worry they won't find us" he said once we broke apart.

I nodded. 

"I'm gonna get something to eat" he said before getting up.

"Alright" I replied.

He grabbed a sandwich and a water bottle.

"Can you guys go to the grocery store and get more food?" Lilly asked.

"Yeah sure" I replied.

We left after a few minutes.

"Even though everyone who's different are on the run or left town it still surprises me that we're the only ones in this part of town" he said.

I nodded in agreement. After 26 minutes we got everything we needed then left.

"You guys took a while" Emma said.

"Yeah we figured it be better if we get more food that way we don't have to go out as much" I replied.

"That was a good idea" she said.

"Yup that way we'll just have to go upstairs and downstairs" Jacob replied.

"Do you think we should board up the windows?" Ethan asked.

"I'm not sure" I replied.

"What do you guys think?" I asked.

"Maybe we should" Alison replied.

"Do you have wood?" I asked.

"Yeah" he replied.

I went with him. 20 minutes later we finished boarding up all the windows. We went back upstairs.

"Can we trade places with you guys?" Alison asked.

"Sure" I replied.

Emma and Alison went to sleep. We just talked about survival, his brother and our relationship. After an hour of talking we just looked out the window.

"I'll be right back I'm gonna see if Andrew wants something to eat" he said.

"Alright" I replied.

Andrew grabbed a sandwich and water bottle. Lilly, Alison and Emma were just talking. Caitlin and Rebecca were cuddling on their bed. Matthew and Ethan were talking. After a few minutes Jacob sat down.

"Here you go" he said handing me a water bottle.

"Thanks" I replied taking the water bottle from his hand.

He kissed my cheek. I smiled then kissed him. He linked our fingers together which made me smile. I rested my head on his shoulder. My mind began to wonder.

"What are you thinking about this time?" he asked.

I just looked at him.

"Do you think they would kill us?" I asked.

"Even if we didn't escape, do you think that they'd kill us for being different?" I added.

He let out a sigh.

"I'm not sure, but we did escape so don't think about that" he replied.

I nodded.

"Why do you keep thinking about that anyway?" he asked.

"I guess I'm just worried about losing you" I replied.

"You'll never lose me" he said.

"Promise?" I asked.

"I promise" he replied.

I was debating on whether or not to tell him after a few minutes I decided to tell him.

"I-I love you" I said.

"Really?" he asked.

I nodded. He smiled.

"I love you too" he replied.
