Chapter 6

I woke up, practically jumping out of bed. Another nightmare I reminded myself as I slowly lied back down, tears already beginning to well up. It was the same nightmare as any other night. My 16th birthday. I clutched the blankets around myself and buried my face into the pillows. Slowly I sat up once more. This wasn’t the hotel bed. Where was I? I held in my scream. What if I got kidnapped? Did the Marino’s get me? Ugh, what happened? Alright I remembered sitting in the car with Eli and seeing the guy’s walk out of the building pretty peeved and then…? I racked my brain for any other memories, but found none. I couldn’t hold it in any longer. I screamed, throwing the blankets off of me and jumping to my feet. My door was thrown open and someone came rushing in.

“Get away from me!” I screamed, stumbling over something and falling to the ground.

“Bridget? Bridget it’s me! It’s Eli!” He came rushing to my side. I let out a shaky breath of relief.

“S-sorry,” I sniffled.

“Bridget, what’s wrong? Why were you screaming?” He asked softly. I let out a soft sob, leaning into his side. He didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around me and comfort me.

“You don’t have to tell me if it’s too hard,” He murmured into my hair. I nodded into his chest. I heard someone walking by my door.

“What happened?” Someone asked sleepily.

“Bridget had a nightmare,” Eli said, looking up at the person. The person walked over to us sitting down on the other side of me. I felt Eli shift uncomfortably for some reason, but I ignored it. I looked up to see Carter sitting next to me with major bed head. I groaned.

“Carter, go away,” I mumbled, leaning back into Eli.

“Why? I’m here to make you feel better,” He said, being his usually cocky self.

“Yeah right,” I scoffed, my tears instantly disappeared. I didn’t need Carter making fun of me for crying over a nightmare. Knowing him, he would probably use this against me in later times.

“Look, I’m fine,” I said standing up. “Thanks Eli,” I smiled at him.

“No problem,” He stood up also while Carter just grumbled and left the room. I rolled my eyes at him and climbed back into bed.

“Night Bridget,” Eli grinned, walking towards my door.

“Wait! Er…Eli?” He turned around.

“Where am I?” I smiled sheepishly while he just chuckled.

“We’re at my place. Carter, me, you, and Brian are here and Blake, Russel, Chase, and Dylan are in the apartment next door,” He explained.

“Why does Carter have to be here?” I huffed, crossing my arms.

“Well, if it makes you feel any better Dylan and him got into a huge fight. It was pretty funny. It only ended because Carter shoved Dylan out the door and locked it,” He smirked. I nodded, a small smile crossing my face.

“Oh, well night Eli,” I smiled. I lied back down and closed my eyes, pulling the covers up to my chin. I thought I felt someone kiss my forehead, but it was probably my imagination.

“HEY BRIDGET, WAKE UP, WAKE UP, WAKE UP!!!”

“GAH!” I sat up in my bed, practically falling out. I turned around to see a snickering Dylan.
