I watched him quietly, his eyes filled with concern as he walked over to my bed. His hair was messy, his eyes tired. He'd ran straight over as soon as he'd heard.

My mascara was smudged, and my eyes were red and puffy from all the crying. I was still wearing my dress, short and black. I just wanted to go to sleep and never wake up.

The memory of the day we first met came crawling into my mind. Where he'd stopped me from falling in the corridor on our first day of sophomore year.

*Flashback*

"Are... are you okay?" he asked nervously, raising his eyebrows.

"Mmhmm" was all I could manage. His eyes were locked with mine and I couldn't help but notice the sadness hiding in them.

"I'm Lilly" I said, giving him a small smile.

"Luke... I'm sorry about your papers" he said, bending down to pick them up. I bent down beside him and started to help.

"It's okay, I was about to throw them in the rubbish anyway... old

assignment notes"

"Oh... okay"

We both stood up, turning back to our lockers that were conveniently right beside each other. He turned back to face me,

"Do you like music?" he asked smiling, holding out an ear phone, his IPhone clutched tightly in his hand.

I chuckled silently, taking the white ear phone from his hand. He pushed the other one into his ear and started scrolling down his screen.

"More than life itself" I whispered.

He smiled,

"Good"

*End of flashback*

I shuffled over, making room for Luke on my bed. I pulled the covers up to my waist and wiped the tears away from my eyes.

"Lilly... I'm so sorry" he whispered, taking my hand. His hand was soft and warm. I lifted it up to my cheek, letting the warmth linger there for a while before I quickly let go and got out of bed.

Luke stood up and followed me to the bathroom, stopping outside the door.

"I missed you" I sniffed, getting undressed.

"You should've called" he said through the door.

"If I had of called, would you have picked up?"

I turned the shower on, letting the water run over my fingers before slipping in.

"School tomorrow" he said changing the subject.

I squeezed some shampoo out of a bottle and massaged it through my hair.

"Don't remind me"

"What are you talking about, you love school!" he laughed quietly

"Fridays... I love Fridays" I replied, rinsing the shampoo out, and grabbing the conditioner.

"Are you sure you're up for it?" he asked a few minutes later.

I stepped out of the bathroom, dressed in pijama shorts and a sweatshirt, and slid down the wall next to Luke.

"Yeah"

Just 4 hours ago my friends and I burried another friend. Cause of death: Suicide. I watched in silence as his family placed flowers on his coffin.

"I just stood there you know... I couldn't move, my body wouldn't let me. As soon as I got home I just cried and cried.

Luke took my hand again, squeezing it tight.

"Kyle's Mum was looking for you Luke. You should've came"

"I couldn't. I wouldn't have been able to control myself" he frowned.

"Do you want to stay? You can have the guest room, Dad's in Perth on a business trip, he's not back till next week" I asked, nudging him with my shoulder.

"I should be getting home... Mum'll be worried"

He stood up and headed towards the door. I quickly jumped up.

"Luke I-"

Luke turned around and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me in tight. I felt his jaw shaking, and the feeling of tears soaking into my shirt.

I felt my heart drop. I'd never seem him like this before. I reached up and put my arms around his neck, laying my head on his chest as he burried his head into my neck.

"I should go" he whispered, slowly pulling away. He gave me a small smile before slowly opening the door.

"Be safe" I gasped

"Yeah, you too. I'll see you tomorrow"

And then the door shut.
