Saving Jeff. Fail or Success?
Gene's P.O.V:
I was awoken by the sound of a loud bang. I leaped out of my seat, "what was that?" I looked around. Ben chuckled, "sorry, I didn't mean to wake ya." It took me a minute to figure out what happened. He just got into the car and slammed the door. "Where are we?" I asked. "Look around Gene. Jeez, we are at a gas station." Clock chuckled. I looked out the window to see a highway, just outside a building we were at. It was a truck stop. "Oh." I said, calming down a bit, and relaxed in my seat. Ben started the car again and we were back on the highway. "Two more hours and we'll be in Ohio." Ben smiled. "I'm hungry." Toby said. Ben chuckled and pulled three subs out of a bag by his feet. "I got these at the station, eat up." He handed us the subs, then pulled out three bags of chips. One sour cream and union, two salt and vinegar. He handed me and Clock the salt and vinegar and Toby the sour cream and union. He then pulled out his own sub, "Gene can you open this for me?" I opened the wrapper and handed him the sub. We ate in silence. "If you want amything to drink, there are four monsters in the bag, the orange one is mine. I took the bag and examimed it's contents. I pulled out blue can and passed it in the back for Clock and Toby.We had finally gotten off the highway and were finally in Ohio. We were practically were jumping out of our seats in anticipation. We only had three hours to find Jeff and save him. Just when I had found a shred of hope, it was instantly crushed. Out of no where, something crashed into the side of the car, sending us flying off the road. The car tumbled down a hill, with us trapped inside. Our screams were muffled by the sound of glass being shattered, and metal crunching. There was one more jolt as the car smacked into a tree. My vision was blurred and there was a ringing in my ear. After about a minute, the ringing finally subsided and my sight returned. I had a huge migrane and felt a sharp pain in my side. My arms stung. I looked down to see a huge gash on my side. A shard of glass stuck in my seat right next to my face. I took a huge shakey breath, relieved to know I didn't die by that thing. My arms were covered in cuts and bruises. "Is everyone ok?" Ben asked. I looked around at my surroundings. The windsheild was cracked and broken, as well as all the windows. My seat was pushed upward and sideways, as my door was crushed into it. The dashboard was alot closer to Ben and I than it was before. "Yeah." I said, my voice shaking. "I'm good." Clockwork said. It took me a minute to realize we were upside down. Toby climbed out of the car. "What t-the hell ha-happened?" He asked. I unbuckled my seatbelt, causing me to fall onto the roof. I pushed myself up and struggled to get out. Ben, climbed out on my side of the car. Clockwork, had more of a hard time getting out than the rest of us, and I soon figured out why. There was a piece of glass stuck in her leg. When she got out of the car, she pulled it out of her leg, screaming curse words in the process. I cringed at the sight. She ripped a shred of her shirt off and wrapped it around her leg. "H-hey guys we're in the woods! The fi-rst forest we see getting into Ohio!" Toby exclaimed. Excitement evident in his voice. Clock stood up, and tried to shake off the pain. "Oh nooo!! Goddamn it! My car it's ruined!" Ben whined. "I didn't even get to personalize it!" I patted his back. His clothes were tattered. He had cuts and bruises all over his arms and face. A bruise was starting to form over his eye. Toby's goggles were shattered on one eye. His clothes were also tattered and ripped. The most injury he substained was a long cut on his right cheek. I took my sweatshirt off, and ripped the sleave with my pocket knife. I tied it around my waiste where the gash was. I heard a loud growling behind me. We all turned. An eternal was standing there, ready to attack us. "Ohhh not now!" I shouted. Toby let out a loud groan. Ben huffed, "you bastard! You owe me a new corvette. He walked over to it and punched it on the nose. It didn't flinch, instead it roared in his face. He gulped and ran behind me. "My hero." I deadpanned. I heard more roars to find four more eternals appear. "Oh great! Could this get any wo-" Ben covered my mouth. "Don't jynx us!" I shoved his hand away, "baka!" I pulled my pocket knife out. "This isn't going to help us." I sighed. "No, but these will!" Ben said, pulling three swords and a pair of axes out of the trunk. Toby grabbed the axes. "I had a feeling these would come in handy!" He said tossing me and Clockwork our swords. We both caught them. "We should probably seperate these bastards so they can't merge. Toby Clock, you two run that way, Gene follow me. When we beat these things, meet back here. Remember, the only way to kill them is to sever their heads." Ben said running off to the right. Clock and Toby ran to the left and I followed Ben. three of the eternals ran after us. "Great, there's three of them!" I growled. "Fine by me!" Ben shouted spinning around, and charging at the one at the left. He jumped up onto the eternal's back and was about to stab it through the neck, when another one started to charge at him. I cut it's leg clean off with one swipe. It toppled over and roared in pain. "Damn these swords are sharp." I huffed. Its leg was starting to grow back, so I ran around it and cut off its head before it had time to counter me. But I didn't realize the third one coming at me. Ben was too busy wrestling with the first one. It body slammed into me, sending me crashing into a tree. I chocked up, and writhed in pain, not only from having the pain in my side from the cut, but from the pain that shot up through my back. It charged at me again, but Ben came out of nowhere, and stabbed it through the chest. It let out a blood curdling screech and fell back. Ben left no hesitation to jump up and stab it through both eyes. It let out more shrill cries. As Ben yanked out his sword, and before he got the chance to do anything else, the other eternal swat at him, sending him flying into me, just as I was starting to stand back up. This caused me to fall back into the tree. We both slowly got back up as it sprang at us with intense speed. We both leaped at each side of it, and sliced its head off with one blow. We smiled at each other, and walked up to the last eternal like a couple of badass heros in an action movie. It was just starting to recover and struggled to get back up. I swung my sword underneath it, as Ben swung his above it, cutting it through the neck, the swords meeting at the middle. We both sighed, and walked away from the scene. We both sat at the car wreck, waiting for Clock and Toby. I sat on a tree stump, as Ben leaned againsted the destroyed vehicle, cleaning the black blood from his sword with an old rag.
